Intro:I'm sorry to inform you but your daughter has been diagnosed with severe depression. We have been having these sessions for a couple months now at school, we thought it was problems with friends. We were semi right, they helped with it but we believe it was caused by you. After going through these sessions we believe it was you, not that you abuse her, put her and put her down. When you let me see your records I noticed you suffer from depression and how your daughter says she spends most of her time around you. This was not the worst part, after we became close friends she showed me her arms, they were bandaged from her wrists to her shoulders. When are children are depressed and or around depressed family, it is has been shown in studies by the Institute of Medicine that adolescents are more injury prone and have more emergency room visits than the average child. One of the most important things is for kids to not feel alone, because it's the worst feeling, feeling locked away from everyone, they can hear your screams for help but they only look at the mask you put up, the smile you cut in. When a child feels alone is not always bad you know like maybe they can't play with there friends that day, it's when they always feel alone, when they feel no one sees them hears them. When your parent cannot or does not help it makes it so much worse, when they're depressed and break their relationships, it leaves scars, social
I explained the purpose of my detail and explained to Ms. Kanwai the importance of speaking to Mya. Ms. Kanwai granted me access to both her kids as her son had also been leaving home. On April 15, 2016, I responded to Francis Hammond School and spoke to Ms. Kidist Square Mya’s school counselor. Ms. Square pulled Mya Navia from class and was also present while I spoke to Mya

“I was a bother and a burden they could do without. ”(Walls 30) “Before Mom left, she gave me two hundred dollars. That was plenty, she said, to buy food for Brian and Maureen and me for two months and pay the water and electricity bills”(Walls 209) These examples are proof of an uncaring family who didn't value their kids. These examples of neglect can lead to a precarious childhood which can be a significant factor in depression.
Love, support, and a place to call home as well as the necessary push to explore and grow as an individual will help our kids
Children need their parents because they need someone that 's there behind them all the time so they can do there work. By children not having their parents it also affects them by going to
Human development has interesting stages due to the changes in behaviour and growth of the body. Adolescent depression is a serious development issue which faces most households, hence requires proper attention. The occurrence of adolescent depression is most common in the modern society, though the impact of the depression has not been addressed adequately and may be significant. Many behavioural problems, for example, school dropout, drug abuse, unprotected sexual activity, suicide, self- inflicted injuries are the result of depression. Regular depression screening is important in the healthcare setting since it helps the physicians treat depression and employ recovery mechanisms for the patients.
Depression is a serious mental illness that most adolescents struggle with, through their teenage years of life. Suicides rates are increasing as the years go by, especially in teens and adolescents. There are several controversial treatments and antidepressants for depression and they seem to work with teens, but not all. Allowing a teen to have an antidepressant should not be aloud because studies have shown that most teens and adolescents does not benefit them with their brain. In today’s society, doctors give teen a antidepressants and send them on their way.
PERSUASIVE SPEECH OUTLINE Topic: Foster Care/Adoption Specific Purpose: To Improve foster care around the world Thesis Statement: Consequently, we need to do something to make adoption easier and better not only in the United States, but all over the world. I. INTRODUCTION A. Attention material/Credibility Material: In my last speech, I told you about some of the problems with the foster care system and how I was an eight-month-old baby that was placed in the foster care system. I don’t know much about my biological parents and I don’t know if I really want to know.
Karta is a 12 year old African American girl, who has experienced a long history of trauma. She was referred to me by her school social worker Ms. Johnson who reports that she has academic problems, severe inattention, hyperactivity, physical violent tantrums and is disrespectful to her peers and teachers. Karta was raised in a single parent household during the first few years of her life. Karta’s father died in a car accident before she was born so she never got a chance to meet him. Karta’s mother Michelle became depressed and turned to alcohol to cope with her pain.
The issue at hand is childhood trauma but as mentioned before Depression will be focused on the most. Depression is often overlooked due to underestimation of effects to a person. Depression is caused by parental absence, anxiety, stress and substance abuse. Another large factor that causes depression is social isolation for example loneliness in university because of lack of acceptance from peers is a form of social isolation that leads to depression. Depression is an illness which can lead too many more problems such as mental illness, inability to cope with day to day aspects of human life, violence and aggression, alcohol and drug addiction as well as unemployment, and depending on the severity of the abuse sustained childhood trauma.
Title: The Gift of Adoption Rhetorical Purpose: To inform the audience about what adoption looks like in today’s society, including what it is, an overview of the process, and the prevalence in the media. Thesis Statement: The process is often thought of as complicated and uncommon, but with increased awareness and proper education, individuals can better understand the gift that is adoption. Introduction: I. Attention Getter: More than five million women of childbearing age in the U.S. have infertility problems (Seven myths, 2018). Or in simpler terms, one out ten couples will have problems with infertility, according to Meredith’s Women Network (Seven myths, 2018).
As a child we watch our parents and we learn from them. We learn how to cook, how to clean, how to raise children, how to do right from wrong, how to work, how to do things we don't want to, how to be happy, how to have fun, and many more things.
One in ten children and adolescents will experience a period of major depression (“Mental Health Myths and Facts”). Many avoid the topic of mental health like the plague. In truth, people should be able to talk about mental illness and its repercussions on society and the individual. A minority of those affected with mental illnesses get help. Therefore, it is important to discuss possible solutions to helping those who suffer get treatment.
By the end of my speech, 212 underprivileged children around the world would be clenching their stomach and wobbling from garbage dumps to garbage dumps, searching for half- eaten food. 5 children in India would leave school to work in a dilapidated undergarment factory for 14 straight hours, enduring whipping, and pain just for 3 bowls of rice. 3 children in Africa would be dead after being beheaded by heartless invaders. The power to change this situation lies with every one of you present today. Basic necessity such as food, basic education, security are few of many things that underprivileged children lack.
Family Family is one of the greatest gift and blessing from the Lord. Without family you can not feel love, care , satisfaction and happiness. They are the most treasured blessing that no one can take away from us. It is also like a fragile thing you consider as the most precious gem in your whole life. Family is a basic unit in the society traditionally consisting of parents and children.
