I will help motivate my peers to take on more community and school service projects. I am not afraid to break out of my comfort zone to benefit those around me. The past two years I have worked to come out of my comfort zone and try new things. This lead me to many clubs and extracurricular activities that I know enjoy.
Activities that we are involved in at work or outside of work can provide learning opportunities to improve our leadership skills and abilities. For instance, I like to coupon. What I find that couponing teaches me, on a personal level, is organization, patience, and appreciation. Being on committees at work allows me to develop and improve my social skills, goal-setting, taking risks, and being open. Being in school studying leadership studies, educates and gives me a foundation of what the meaning of leadership is and what makes a great leader.
The Junior Reserve officers Training Corps (JROTC) program mission throughout many years has been to motivate young people to become better citizens. You obtain the opportunity to improve not only as a student, but also as a person. A few things the program is responsible for is teaching self –discipline, increasing self-esteem, and encouraging citizenship through participation in community service projects. There are many positions in a JROTC battalion, which are important, but one position that stands out more due to the amount of responsibility it comes with is the battalion commander. As a Battalion Commander some of the duties are to provide guidance to the Battalion staff officers, supervise their work to ensure all planned activities
What I see as the function of the National Honor Society is to encourage young adults like myself to participate more within their school and community. It allows students the ability to give and serve other people that have done so for them. This group will give many students an eye opening experience on volunteering for fellow citizens. If I were to be selected into the National Honor Society, I would contribute to the group by sharing ideas and giving useful feedback to the other students in the group. I would also provide personal experiences of certain voluntary services that I have completed, if needed.
It makes me feel good to help students who are struggling at a new school, just like I was when I first began attending. Because of my time working in the club, I
Social constructivism will be an everyday part of my future career as learning through communication a key factor in teaching (Kim, 2001). Students are encouraged to engage in social activities which require a hands-on approach to learning together (Young,
It allows that person to have a broad perspective on what duties or responsibilities come with the job they choose to pursue. Participating in hobbies that allow one to decide on a career path is an excellent benefit to receive from volunteering. Not only is that person providing assistance to others, but is also gaining knowledge on how they might choose to further his or her career. While making friends and deciding on career paths are both very rewarding benefits most get from volunteering, health benefits are also provided when one
I would like to become a Victory Viking Voice because I want to help assist and inspire others to success. From the moment the Victory Viking Voices came to give a presentation over Victory Early College to my middle school, I immediately felt adoration towards them. I thought to myself, that’s where I want to be one day. The Voices have had such an impact on my life since our first interaction. They motivated me to apply to Victory.
I greatly appreciate my nomination to be considered for induction into the National Honors Society. I would be honored to join such an organization as it would not only provide opportunities for myself, but also encourages and emphasizes the importance of service to community. Before and during high school, I have been active in serving the community in a consistent way. Other activities I do also influence and shape the way in which I approach service and leadership tasks.
I want to become a member of National Honor Society because it will help me enhance my leadership skills, along with other important character qualities such as academic achievement, serving others, and developing my character traits. Becoming a part of National Honor Society will give me opportunities to help and learn more about others. I enjoy volunteering in my free time since it is a way of me giving back to my community, getting to meet new people, and gain more experience. If selected, I will help give back to my community by committing my time to volunteering and fundraising for non-profit organization.
These range from the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Beta Club. These clubs have given me the opportunity to practice my leadership by chairing service projects and contributing my ideas to better the school and the community. They have also allowed me to serve others through tutoring, donating, and
The Rogerian outline of an essay creates an effective argument in the aspect that it acknowledges two opposing viewpoints of the matter in an unbiased way. By doing this, the author is able to let the reader understand other perspectives towards the topic, without offending or disregarding their stance.. Creating a compromise, or a common ground, between the two lets the audience shift from their original views and expand their thoughts. This way of formatting an argument is useful when discussing emotional topics. If arguing for animal testing, for example, it would benefit the author if they used the Toulmin method because it is so controversial and emotional, seeing that it deals with the lives of living creatures.
