In addition, Welles Crowther is another good example of a hero who puts others before himself. Welles didn’t hesitate and immediately thought about other people before himself. He sacrificed his life to help others. His traits are admirable and is a good example to follow. Heroes put other people’s needs before their
He has stayed with it and is searching for the light at the end of the tunnel where all of his hard work and countless hours of time and frustration that he has dealt with will pay off. He wants to be able to say that Moxie Java is a successful business. In my opinion, it would be incredibly difficult to keep a positive attitude the way that he has with the struggles he has dealt with but he has and that is truly inspiring to

This helps him to survive the Nazi oppression because he never gave up so he kept striving forward. Ultimately, Harran and Leyson show us that hope, hard work, and determination can give you the strength to accomplish your goals.. Being scared and weak can help you understand to not take life for granted.
Over the course of the narrative, he becomes more and more responsible and even more of a leader, in spite of having to occasionally be instructed in military tactics and battlefield protocols. Although peters keeps a courageous side that lies deep within him and only needs a bit of promoting from the outside in order to show itself, “At the name of Aslan each one of the children felt something jump in his inside….Peter felt suddenly brave and adventurous” (7.68).This also serves to represent Peter’s essential initial reaction to the mystery and joy that eventually come to experience in his adventure with Aslan. His courage is truly shown when he defends both his sisters from an attack by wolves sent by the White Witch. In the process one of them was able to escape, “They have killed my captain, Maugrim.
A responsible father is one who is known to support their children, solve any problems that may take place and most importantly treat all their children equally. In particular, two pieces of literature, “Taming Of The Shrew”, by William Shakespeare and “To Kill A Mockingbird”, by Harper Lee address the topic of being a father. Although Baptista Minola and Atticus Finch both want a successful future for their children within their own stories, Atticus’ valuable lessons are evident he is the better father out of the two. As Mark Twain has quoted, “Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example”, It is very crucial that all parents set good examples and be positive role models towards their children.
With the use of the Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald is saying people should not be afraid to pursue their dreams and try to obtain what they want in life. It doesn’t matter what your background is or how difficult that goal may seem. The goal you have can be possible if you have the courage to pursue it. People can come up with an enormous amount of interpretations of what the Great Gatsby’s theme is, and this is one of my interpretations because of everything an important character had to endure to be where he wanted in life. The Great Gatsby is a really well known book, and this story took place in the 1920s(Also known as The Jazz age and The Roaring Twenties).
After reading book one I just had to know what happens in young David’s journey and the author does not disappoint. Psychologically and physically young David is on the cusp of manhood as he fights the demons within. Though dark and troubling within the teenager’s mind he is still a good boy at heart. The readers will find themselves captivatingly drawn in, wondering as adulthood approaches is David on the path of destruction or will his troubled mind break free from the torment. Powerful and emotionally charged read that does not disappoint, leading one to wonder what will book three
Outliers Malcolm Gladwell does an excellent job in taking the expected and making it the unexpected. He shows that although hard work and dedication are important to be successful, they are not the only determining factors. Each chapter started out with a story of someone who seemed to have risen from nothing into something, and he carefully broke the situation down and analyzed the time periods, what their religion/ ethnicity were, family life, and what was occurring in the world during their youth. In each part he connected back to previous stories/examples to continue making the point that it is almost impossible to truly make a successful career out of nothing on your own.
His family has played a big part of who he is and has shaped him greatly. Wesley said, “My father for sure, he taught me to never be afraid to speak up for myself and to always be prepared for anything that life could bring my way.” Wesley is always very tough and confident, and his dad taught him to be at a very young age. Wesleys childhood definitely plays a big part in how he handles situations now.
My class just read the book Freak The Mighty and finished the movie to it. And I noticed some major differences in the movie to the book such as the mill pond scene, the ornithopter, and Loretta Lee’s purse. The first difference I noticed is that when in the book they went to the 4th of July firework show. They got chased into the mill pond.
