The Plymouth Bay colony was made up of pilgrims from England who were trying to escape religious prosecution. This colony developed differently from the southern colonies because of the geography and their religious beliefs. In New England. , the geography was very different from Chesapeake Bay. The soil was much more rocky, and unlike the southern colonies, the Chesapeake Bay did not have a long growing season.
New England did not "have all of it 's investments tied up on one place" very like the Chesapeake. The economy depended on angling, shipbuilding, and cultivating. The cultivating in New England was done on a substantially littler scale, notwithstanding. Since the religion (and society) was so family-situated, ranches were generally sufficiently substantial to nourish one 's family, with a little overflow. It was no where close to the span of the huge estates in the Chesapeake.
The southern colony and New England Colony had many differences. The New England colony was based more in manufacturing while the southern colony was about agriculture as far as their economy. One big difference is that New England colony didn’t believe in slavery like the southern colonies believed. Slaves and indentured servants were the backbone of the Southern economy. They did much of the labor work for the southern colonies cash crops.
During the mid 1800s, as America was expanding westward, the economy of the different regions in America boosted. The north based their economy off of the recently developed industries, whereas the south continued their work with agriculture and the production of cotton. The development of these two very different forms of business led to sectionalism, or the devotion to the advancement of one’s region as opposed to the country as whole. As more people immigrated to the US in the 1840s specifically from Ireland and Germany, America’s newfound industries were provided with unqualified and inexperienced employees who would work for very little pay. These immigrants were forced to move to the north because they didn’t have the money to buy land
The north and the south had various distinct differences from one another. They have distinct differences in their geography, economy, society, and transportation. The south is much warmer than the north. The north makes money off of factories that make household things, unlike the south. The north has more school and churches than the south.
The Renaissance had long lasting impacts on the world. During the Medieval time period, the people were mostly farmers due to the lack of variety in jobs. The Medieval time worldview was limited to their small farm and what they saw in front of them. The people were illiterate, uneducated, and only gained their information from one source, the Roman Catholic Church. As time went on, new and more efficient farming methods were introduced allowing fewer people to farm.
Usually this kind of believing causes hierarchy, because different jobs are not equally appreciated. For example, priests were part of upper class, which got more free time and a bigger variety of foods. In hunter-gatherer societies people were animistic, which means that they did not have any gods. However, there are some similarities between these societies.
Even though, imperialism did benefit some countries economically, but it overshadows cultural traditions and the economy in others. ( Claim) After 1857, India was channeled as a market for British Industrial Products. This affected the Indian peasants who now had to grow cash crops, instead of their own food. This act destroyed the old village economy and worsened
As a peasant they were still apart of the social class pyramid. But, since they were at the bottom of the pyramid meaning there were many of the peasant class (Donn 3). This meant the upper classes could control or boss them around throughout their lifetime. Knights really were not worried about the peasants but in general “Noblemen and lords of the manor would distribute jobs to the serf. They had more control over peasants because they were of a higher class.”
There was lack of cultural and literary abilities, especially in Western Europe. Migration to England increased during the Early Middle Ages. The Europeans came in large groups to England. There were agricultural labourers such as skilled cloth weavers, and merchants involved in international trade. “They were seen as abusing their special privileges and enjoying unfair economic advantages over their English-born neighbours and co-workers.”
The Middle colonies believed in more of a diverse culture with multiple religions, cultures, languages, etc. Now there’s the economy. The New England colonies were more of an industrial type of economy because most of their land was infertile. The Middle colonies mostly just relied on farmers, craftsmen, and merchants. The
The differences in the economy in the three different regions of the thirteen colonies were determined by both the people who went there and the environment. The environment limited how the economy was based because an agricultural economy needs good ground for growing, so without good soil, the economy would have to be based on industry. In the New England colonies (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island), the economy was dependent on their industries, not their agriculture. The Middle Colonies (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware) were equally dependent on industry as they were on agriculture. The Southern Colonies (Maryland, N. Carolina, S. Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia) depended on selling their
The number of railroads, canals, and wagon trails on the map are noticeable. The main reason is because the South has less development, compared to the North. I would like to add that the North is way more industrialized than the South is, to be completely honest. The South is pretty much all about agriculture, as where North is pretty much where there is job opportunities. I think these things had a social and economical impact overall.
The New England had very little fertile land, with extreme weather and rocks frozen to the dirt making agriculture hard. In time, they would create a diverse agricultural system to create food for its inhabitants which included fishing as the citizens became top notch shipwrights. So, it turned to industrial endeavours due to the high number of raw resources in the region. The higher population, due to the fertile nature of the inhabitants, could easily support the growing industry of New England. Due to its isolated location with possible enemies surrounding them, the Puritan beliefs tied the families of New England together and united them.
The American Revolution was caused by the changes in Britain and not by social change in America. American colonists had a clear reluctance to fight and separate from Britain as seen in such documents as the Olive Branch Petition and the Declaration of Independence. Many American writers expressed regret or melancholy over their separation from the British. Many historians debate whether or not the American Revolution was actually a revolution. A revolution is known as an upheaval of a society (for example the French, or Russian revolutions).
