This provides insight into the appeal it has for the elderly population as the median age a few blocks away is 31 years old, which is closer to the national average of 37 years old. This area is especially conducive to older adults however, does not provide many assets needed for others at different stages of the age spectrum. This would include schools, day cares, businesses and other forms of employment. However, the unique abundance of rehabilitation centers, parks and hospitals make this area an ideal area for older adults. The median household income in this area is $27,328, which is well below the national average of $50,157. This data leads to the inference that due to the high population of retired older adults, the average is significantly lower than the national average. Given the information that much of the male population served in WWII, it can be assumed that many of the resident are receiving a pension. This may also be a factor that is contributing to the low household income in this area.

After the United States, women 's national soccer team won the Women 's World Cup, many wondered how such a victory was possible. Some gave credit to their powerhouse offense, but many forgot that they had a stellar defense that seldom allowed opposing teams to score. Hope Solo, the goalie of the team, was the main reason why this defense looked amazing. She was named the best goalkeeper in the tournament. She stopped every shot in her way; she was almost god-like.
This phenomenon is reflected in the data as Nacogdoches County had a higher percentage of the elderly age group (12.6%) as opposed to the (8%) for Travis County. The higher elderly age group of the rural county could also be tied its lower per capita income. Socioeconomic indicators are generally better in urban areas as opposed to rural areas. The data from the two counties supports this impression as it showed that the urban county had a higher per capita personal income as opposed the rural county; Travis’ $48,562 as opposed to Nacogdoches’ $31,592. This could be a reflection of the number of elderly no longer working in the rural community or the pay of the jobs that are located there.

Although both Angelina and Sarah wanted to continue giving speeches and attending meetings, the pressures of running a household, raising three children, poverty and health issues (Angelina had suffered a terrible breakdown after her third child), caused them retreat from public issues. They still continue to write and support the antislavery and women’s

Living arrangements are very important in this development. Teas and Benignton discuss this retirement stage when living arrangement change and many elders should cope with such change. The idea of retirement has been a recently new accepted life style during late adulthood due to the life expectancy increase and the rise of urban America (1982, pg. 21).
