The JayDoc Free Clinic is a student-run volunteer clinic that offers non-urgent and preventive healthcare to uninsured and underinsured individuals (JayDoc Free Clinic, 2015). The staff is composed of a volunteer multidisciplinary healthcare team consisting of physicians, residents, medical students, pharmacists, pharmacy students, dieticians, mental health practitioners, social workers, and other allied-health professionals and students (JayDoc Free Clinic, 2015). JayDoc mostly functions as an acute care clinic, but offers specialized services on a weekly basis. The procedures for this clinic involve triaging patients accordingly before administering care, referring patients to specialty nights, or providing referrals to other clinics if the treatment resources are unavailable or inappropriate (JayDoc Free Clinic, 2015). Ultimately, JayDoc provides an educational opportunity for students while benefiting the community by promoting access to healthcare.
My first comprehensive exposure to the health care field was six years ago as a senior, during which time I participated in hospital-based schooling. This program allowed me to observe a multitude of different medical disciplines, with rotations in surgery, orthopedics, nutrition, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, administrative services, and many more. Three out of the five school days were dedicated solely to shadowing, and the other two were spent in the classroom learning various medical-centric studies.

This paper will discuss the influence and function of the differentiated essential competencies (DECs) for graduates of Texas nursing programs. It will outline the competencies of each nursing educational level, mainly, the associate degree nursing (ADN) and the baccalaureate degree nursing (BDN) programs. These competencies were revised and approved by the Texas board of nursing (TX BON) to assure public safety. So, they are the foundation of the nursing education programs and serve as a guide for professional nurses to provide safe, competent, and patient-centered care. The DECs have twenty-five competencies grouped under four main nursing roles. Role II: provider of patient-centered care was selected for this paper
Today, a medical assistant has asked to speak privately with me, the office manager, about a matter that she is greatly concerned about. She makes an accusation of fraudulent billing that is against one of the medical doctors on staff. The medical assistant alleges that she has noticed recently in the past few months that this particular doctor has repeatedly been upcoding higher evaluation appointment code descriptions for all of his Medicare patients’ appointments. She believes that these visits should have been listed with lower medical description codes for billing purposes.
The bill was introduced by a Chair of the Subcommittee on Workplace Safety, Assemblyman Rory Lancman, and Senator George Maziarz, the sponsor the Safe Patient Handling Act (A.1370/S.2470). This bill would (1) create a safe patient handling taskforce, (2) direct the New York State Department of Health to establish a safe patient handling policy, and (3) require each covered healthcare facility to write and execute a plan that coincides with that policy. The Subcommittee on Workplace Safety considers passing the bill a top priority for the 2011-2012 legislative sessions.
The Administrative Contractor, Benefit Administrators (“contractor”), initially allowed payment for those services. However, on October 31, 2012 Healthcare formerly Connolly Healthcare, a Recovery Contractor (“RC”), notified the Appellant that the services were not reasonable and necessary on October 31, 2012. The Contractor then notified the Appellant of an overpayment on November 14, 2012. On June 6, 2013, the contractor denied the Appellant’s request for a redetermination. The Appellant submitted a request for reconsideration. The Independent Contractor (“QIC”), Services, reviewed the Appellant’s claim and issued an unfavorable reconsideration decision on August 9, 2013. The QIC held the Appellant responsible for payment of

On initial response when someone speaks of pain, the automatic answer is; have the doctor prescribed some pain medicine for that. The American population idea of relieving pain is to pop a pill. Instead of taking that expensive pain medication, with awful side effects; pain can be managed with non-pharmacologic interventions. None medication pain relief therapy, is a way known to relieve pain without taking a chemical substance. Non pharmacologic pain exercises are heat; which is known to dull pain, ice is known to soothe pain. Massage and physical therapy is used by applying tactile stimuli to the area of pain. Acupuncture is also a common used non pharmacologic method. If the average American that
I believe that my experience as an NP has a significant influence on my role transition as NP. I always valued my role as a patient advocate as RN I was the last defense line to protect my patients. Now as future NP I can maximize that role. Since I have more authority to influence my patient care. This advocacy start from improving my skills to provide the optimal care. Additionally, I need to continue my professional growth to update my knowledge about the best available evidence based practice.
The organisation will usually have template documents for all tasks and communications. In Helen’s case I may require following information and documents to record and organize to support the claim:
The ability to use various resources is an important aspect of providing safe care, while simultaneously basing the care on an evidence based practice. In this regard, it allows the student FNP to become confident in making decisions in the interest of the patient. This is a great learning experience to carry forth in the subsequent courses. As we continue to build the necessary knowledge base, there will be times of frustration that will get translated into success. In this class, we had the opportunity to gain value information that has provided a substantial foundation as an FNP. Engaging in discussions with fellow students and following their thinking as allowed my thinking to develop more broadly. I thank you and everyone else in the
To demonstrate a plan of reliability and validity, a 5-point Likert scale survey and document review should be conducted by experts to ensure valid and reliable facts are obtained first. I will then use the Likert scale, to collect the data, which is a very reliable reliability method because respondents will give consistent information without the fear of losing their jobs and consistent information about various concerns of lawsuits against the “Eagle Memorial Nursing Center” (EMNC). In conclusion, conducting the 5-point Likert scale survey is a very reliable method of gathering data to demonstrate reliability because of the consistent data that the Likert scale survey provides.
