When thinking about someone's character, or who they are as a person, every trait has its purpose. Character could be friendly, humble, or even courageous; but it can be troubling and rude as well. There are many facets to every person and their personalities. Though the only character that matters is that of what makes a person them.National Honors Society, a group of individuals who have the pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character; symbols of excellence within the school and home communities. When I think of humility and what it means, I think someone who is respectful towards others who is humble, kind and puts everyone else’s need above their own. Someone with this trait would push aside whatever they might be doing at the time and see to that the others need. To be humble you do not rub in others faces when you have something or do good, but rather be kind and respectful as they might not have the same chances as you. For me this would be when I help out at the soup kitchen in Camden with Chef S. or when i help out in my church with the children's ministry. It is important to me to help those in need as the to deserve to be happy like me. Helping the hungry eat, and the children learn is something that everyone should …show more content…
How people don't care to think about themselves but only the wellness and needs of others. This is something I strive to do every day for it is what makes a better person and a better tomorrow for everyone. What is life when there is no one there to help? When a person is all alone hungry and cold? All that matters is any such service is to help, benefit others for no reward and no working towards one either. For someone to posses this trait is for them to be kind and to understand how there are those out there less fortunate who need help from others. Whether it be an old lady, the sick, the poor, the homeless, etc. they all need help. To be selfless is something to be proud of because then a difference is truly being
Having read the GR, I would like to respond as follows: Page 4 Each member of the team is responsible for managing their timing on a daily basis to ensure all customer needs are attended to within the working hours. During every team meetings JA always state the importance of having all members of staff taking their lunch during the business stipulated hours of 12noon and 2pm. C.S. Lewis once said “Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it 's thinking of yourself less.” This to me means humility is not thinking of yourself as much rather than feeling worse than yourself. Sometimes when I feel humility because I’m unable to do what others do I can’t help but feel very bad about myself. Normally, my pride and ego are damaged for weeks on end.
This can create success and enjoyment for your patients and partners you 'll work with. Overall the types of traits and qualities you should have is a strong work ethic, the desire to adventure, confidence in your medical knowledge, being comfortable with change and an outgoing
According to Lencioni (2016), “Humility is the single greatest and most indispensable attribute of being a team player” (p. 157). Humility is a form of integrity. When a team player is humble they do not have egos, neither are they concerned about their status. When a team player is humble, they tend to point out the contributions of others and do not highlight the contribution of their own. The success of the team is collectively not an individual effort.
An ideal humble person has no self to improve, but self-improvement is an essential part of being a real-life good person, and an ideal that excludes self-improvement would not be a useful one. The ideal of humility should not be interpreted as saying that a person should pretend he has no self, but as a humbling reminder of what’s important and what is not. Self-cultivation of humility is only useful insofar as it enhances, rather than distracts from, attention to others, which is of primary
Changes are regularly being monitored by the NHS to ensure its policies, legislation, regulations and codes of practice are suitable and precise to the changing ethnic, financial and cultural backgrounds of the population. The health and Social Care Act 2012 stands as the most common legislation guiding the health and social care field within the UK. It offers for the most widespread reorganization of the structure of the National Health Service in England. It allows policies for managers within the health and social care sector, professional responsibility which will empower them.

The use of children in the Sierra Leone Civil War was widespread, with up to 10,000 children taking part in the conflict and up to eighty percent of RUF forces between the ages of seven and fourteen. Ishmael is one of these children. In his memoir, A Long Way Gone, Lieutenant Jabati and his men exploit several techniques to transform these frightened children into ruthless killing machines. They do this through the use of drugs, pop culture, as well as character and emotional manipulation. Tactics like these create habits and addictions that are almost impossible to break.
Today, humility is now understood as disgraceful and shameful. Humility is the ability to give up your pride and still retain your dignity. Humility is one of the seven Lakota virtues. In many Native American stories, you can detect that this is how the Natives thought of humility.
Nineteen Minutes is Jodi Picoult’s staggering and heartbreaking story about the devastating aftermath of a small town tragedy. The story begins in the town of Sterling, New Hampshire, following the lives of the citizens on an ordinary day. That all changes when there is a shooting at Sterling High. Every 6th person in America doesn 't have enough food to eat to stay healthy. Everyone knows how people take food as granted, or how much food they waste and even knowing how to help the helpless but don 't. People like me want to help people, so we decided to sell lemonade and raise money to donate canned goods for people in need. About 40% of food in America is thrown away, roughly 20 pounds per person. The amount of food we waste, we alone can stop world hunger all together. The point is eat wisely and don 't be afraid to save food for the people in need.
Humility helps us to keep other people in our thoughts and not think highly of ourselves above others within our thoughts. For example, in my occupation I work with people from different nationalities. I always have to practice humility when explain to them their Medicaid benefits. I cannot think that only Americans are smart or better than people from other countries. I am respectful of language barriers, religion, and their frustration of being in a new
Intelligence is not the only feature that exists to define a scholar. Achievements in the field of community involvement, leadership and work are all aspects that one must be judged on as well in order to be considered a truly well rounded individual. I hope to help contribute ideas from all of these walks of life while at the same time retaining knowledge from others with experiences different from my own. Statistically speaking, math is not a field I have ever excelled in. Since the 6th grade, where I made my first B in a class, I found that I could not grasp the subject with any sort of relative ease as I could with all of my other classes.
Humility is, in many ways, the same as pride. However, they differ in
Many people don’t get the chance to survive and live to have a horrible death. Many people here in the U.S. don’t think that survival is important in other countries. I believe that in order to have a better world, everyone needs to survive and that means ending world hunger. Do you know when your next meal could be the last? Eight hundred fifteen million people don’t have the food they need because they have no job, natural disaster has struck them or they live in very poor spots of the world.
