A) Introduction
Noise pollution- “A form and level of environmental sound that is generally considered likely to annoy, distract or even harm other people.”
Noise pollution has been an increasing worldwide issue, however, it is a tremendously destructive problem in our very own country. It causes stress related illnesses, sleep deprivation, hearing loss and distracts people. This issue can be proven damaging through the OR Tambo international. The OR Tambo International airport is situated on OR Tambo International Airport Rd, Kempton Park, Johannesburg. Airports worldwide generally deposit an enormous amount of noise pollution on daily basis due to the increasing demand for air travel. The large variety of aeroplanes create this environmental

Within that 10 km radius lies many industries, The East Rand Mall, Hotels, A primary and secondary school, plenty complexes as well as suburbs such as: Kempton Park; Jet Park; Impala Park and Isando. After doing the research, we will be able to determine whether or not these components are affected? There are certain factors which may contribute to the noise pollution coming from the airport, namely:
Aeroplanes: Different size aircrafts will produce a different level of noise coming from the engines of the aeroplane, measured from stage 1-5. The larger the aircraft, the higher the stage of noise. These sounds are extremely loud and distracting and only disappear once the aircraft has reached a high altitude.

Figure 4 proves that there is an aeroplane departing from the OR Tambo International every hour of the day. Could this cause stress related illnesses, hearing loss or could it distract learners and workers within a 10 km

The aim of this investigation was to determine the extent to which the noise pollution affects the daily activities of residents and business enterprises.
Residential areas, a shopping mall and office park that lie 10 km within the radius of OR Tambo International was selected to carry out this investigation, as shown in Figure 1. It can be concluded that in those areas, the aeroplanes departing or arriving can surely be heard. It can be seen in Figure 2 that the closer you live to the airport, the louder the sound of the aeroplanes.
Unfortunately, the decibels at 0 km could not be recorded, as it is said that permanent ear tissue damage can occur. Therefore, this result was taken from secondary research. It is said that the initial decibels of the plane engine at 0 km is 140 dB’s (Asha.org, 2016). From Figure 2, it can be deduced that the decibels range from 65 – 80 within a 10 km radius. Primary research proves this is very loud and secondary research proves this is considered as a health hazard, as Decibels from 70 onwards cause anxiety, headaches, ear tissue damage and loss of hearing (Asha.org,
“No one seemed to mind the deafening din. How could they stand it?” (62) The noise could be considered a health a hazard. It is so loud that Lyddie could barely hear anything besides the noises.
As the Price family arrives in the Congo and they aren’t arriving to a nice paved airport or security, but they are arriving on a dirt airfield and the whole Kilanga community is waiting there ready to greet them. Industrialization had a massive toll on America and Europe. Industrialization is the period of social and economic change that transforms a human group from an agrarian society into an industrial one, involving the extensive re-organization of an economy for the purpose of manufacturing. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because there were many job opportunities, although it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were that the children were forced to work so they could help out their families, air and water pollution, and horrible working/living conditions.
To Kill A Mockingbird The thing about being loud is that everyone has heard it, while the quiet ones are observing to make the next move. Silence only frightens those who are loud by making the loud ones know their mistake of not thinking. I agree that the quietest people are the powerful ones because they hear the information from other people's point of view. In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the author address that the quietest ones can be loud.
I. INTRODUCTION Annex 14 to The Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention) Volume I- Aerodrome Design and Operation under Definitions, refers to an airport as an aerodrome and describes it as "A defined area on land or water (including any buildings, installations, and equipment) intended to be used either wholly or in part for the arrival, departure, and surface movement of aircraft. “ An airport is a subset of an aerodrome with facilities for flights to take off and land. Airports often have facilities to store and maintain aircraft, and a control tower.
It is well known that the human population has been polluting the land and oceans for years. Usually pollution is thought of as physical pieces of garbage, harmful chemical agents, or biological pollutants. However, another form of pollution that spreads across our oceans includes noise pollution from a variety of natural and man-made sources. Natural acoustic pollution can originate from sources such as earthquakes, lightning strikes, volcanic eruptions, and noise from other organisms in the water (Weilgart 2007). Wilson et al.
Part D: Training needs identification research Explore the range of opportunities there are for providing the training to staff e.g. in house training, coaching and mentoring, external training, etc. You should explore at least one external opportunity and construct an email that you might send to an external training provider seeking information about the training. Your email must be written clearly and respectfully. Include a copy of the email as an appendix to the one page report as indicated below. (Students please provide detailed explanation for the following options) • Cross-training: training in 2 fields at the same time to improve proficiency levels in areas such as being a supervisor in the production process and cross checking any
Abstract The accident on McDonnell Douglas DC-9-82, N215AA of 1991 is a good example of an aviation accident that occurred majorly due to human factors. This paper aims to analyze the main causes involving human factors that lead to the crash. The two core factors associated with the accident include; fatigue and situational stress. Both crew members sustained long duty day that exceeding the maximum waking hours.
Family and social contacts may also be reduced, which in turn may lead to physiological responses associated with stress. Long hours may also increase exposure times to workplace hazards such as chemicals; infectious agents; and physical,

For instance, stress could lead to stress-induced gastrointestinal problems, irritable bowel syndrome, acidity, acid reflux, insomnia, depression, heart disease. Moreover, stress could push the victim toward high risk behaviour such as smoking, drinking, and substance abuse. Stress-related illness led to increase in absenteeism and attrition affecting the profitability of the organizations. (Kumar & Rooprai, 2009) Stress can be triggered by the pressures of everyday responsibilities at work and at home. Traumatic stress, brought on by war, disaster, or a violent attack, can keep your body’s stress levels elevated far longer than is necessary for survival.
In automobile an exhaust gas is emitted during a combustion process. The exhaust gas is actually a combination of many different gases such as N2, CO2, H2O and O2. Though some are harmless, there are few that are harmful and are considered major pollutants. The major pollutants are Hydrocarbons (HC), Nitrogen oxide (NOx), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Sulfur dioxide (SO2), etc. These gases can affect human health in both short and long term.
Castil, Czarina Beata N.11-HA1 Informative Speech Outline Topic: Air pollution Specific Purpose: I will inform where air pollution takes place, how it affects us economically and how we can help keep the air cleaner. I. Introduction a. Attention Material: Breathe in. Now, breathe out.
Focusing on reducing air pollutants in the Earth’s atmosphere, it creates an environmentally healthy place to live in and encourage people to work together for a common cause, thus making the world a better place. In order to solve such a problem, a strong understanding is needed. Air pollution is one of the various forms of pollution. It is the presence of foreign toxic substances or pollutants into the air.
For instance, could be easier in the future to travel by making it less stressful before boarding to the aircraft because you're running late to the gate? When you fear in the air because you think the airplane is going to crash, or for seating in the aircraft for too long. In this case, currently, these are the reasons why airlines and people must do to improve the future of air travel by creating a better atmosphere around
