Communication is not always understood and so by these effective communication skills misunderstandings will be prevented. In our everyday life we have to send and receive several numbers of messages, but effective communication is based more about the understanding of emotions behind the information, rather than just receiving the message. This kind of communication can enhance relationships such as at home, at work and also in social situations by expanding connections with others to improve team work, problem solving and for decision making. Effective communication enables us to communicate easily without creating any conflicts or destroying trust. It also binds up together a set of skills including nonverbal communication, attentive listening, the ability to manage stress and the capacity to recognize your own emotions and also to understand the person that you are communicating with.
Non-verbal Non-verbal communication is the use of facial expressions, gestures, tone of voice, facial expressions, gestures and posture. A dentist would usually use non-verbal skills by being aware of the tone of voice he /she is using and their own posture. Eye contact is also a way to reassure the patient moreover, it is vital when having communication with the patient. This lets the patient know their options and views are taken into consideration and they are respected.

The third aspect mentioned that nurses must have communicative capabilities. The nurses serve as spokespersons for patients who are often in vulnerable positions. The nurses are easily accessible and can act as a link between the patient and other professions.
Nonverbal communication is used to express and communicate thoughts, feelings and emotions, to establish and maintain relationships and to influence others. It conveys messages that spoken words alone most often do not. In medical practice, it is very imperative in initiating and sustaining the healthcare professional (HCP) - client relationship and has the capacity to affect the clients adherence to treatment.

Communication can be built if there is an understanding between speaker and the hearer in other word, the source person and target person. The main aim is to indicate something or some relations or even some ideas, and it can be shown or called as its meaning. In this case, meaning is important and significant. If the hearer cannot comprehend the meaning of the speaker try to reveal, the meaning won’t be delivered smoothly.

These messages enclose information, and the senders of these messages intend particular meanings to reach the receiver of the message, who will then attribute a meaning to the message. The intended meaning may be varying from the meaning attribute to the message by the receiver. This is not only due to the words was used but also by the non-verbal messages that are also sent (Fielding, 1995). Barber (1993, cited in Heath, 1997) states that communication is that sharing understandings and involves openness to the enquiry of another person, having attention, perception, receptivity and empathy towards that person.
The generation we belong to, is subjected towards so much distraction because of the impacts of social media. My friends and I are exposed to so much information, we hardly find time to make meaningful contributions to our society. Unlike any other previous generations, especially the generation of the 1920s, when the Rotary Club was in its infancy, today's generation, especially high school students are distracted by the use of social media.
Therapeutic communication can be verbal and nonverbal and both are equally impactful. Therapeutic communication is utilized in an endless variety of scenarios from the commonplace head to toe assessment to find out if a patient feels safe or has suicidal ideations, to determining different juice options a patient might like if their favorite is grapefruit but it will interact with their medication. Nurses around the world strive to create a strong bond with patients based on healthy communication strategies that foster trust and cohesion between all members of a health
