Over the centuries nurse patient relation has become central topic of discussion. Literature defines nurse- patient relation is a central to meet client need by communicating between nurse and patient on which the relation is built (McCabe & Timmins, 2007). Health care providers who have positive attitude towards patients play an important role in motivating patients towards physical activity (Fie et al., 2011). For the patients who fell tired and fatigue activities should be planned to motivate them and to promote their health. While working with this client and writing scholarly paper I came to know the importance of physical activity in mental health and I endorse different strategies for physical activities. Physical activity is one of the important factors in every individual’s life without physical activity time is very difficult to pass. In Pakistan the prevalence of lack of physical activity is increasing and this can be enriched by the efforts of individual, family, society. The government should arrange programs to expand mental health along with physical health. Along with, government as health care professionals it is our responsibility to improve it by observing and evaluating patient’s
For example; a nurse understands the medical challenges of the residents; and by observing the residents’ health each day, provides her an opportunity in dealing medically. The information are, however, detrimental in suggesting for change in physiological and dietary habits. If she held this information, therapists and dietician would have no power to exercise. In order to reduce such challenges,a care conference is held in a regular basis in LNC, which allows everyone to share the information they hold about individual patient and distribute the power to exercise among each
“There is growing recognition that health services must move beyond the responsibility of simply providing clinical and curative services to increasing attention on the benefits of promoting mental health and well-being” (Wand and White, 2007, p. 404). The focus of this
Mental health is a state of psychological well-being. According to World Health Organization (WHO) mental health includes "subjective well-being, perceived self-efficacy, autonomy, competence, intergenerational dependence, and self-actualization of one's intellectual and emotional potential, among others." (Organization, WHO 2001) However, cultural differences, race, ethnicity, personal background, subjective assessment, and socioeconomic status all affect how mental health is defined. This variation in definitions of mental health between different sects of our society further causes drift in methods of treatment, and may cause the burden of mental health to be greater on some cultures.
The ideas that the world has about mental health nowadays does not help. By trying to prevent mental health and getting help from people who really need it is something we need to do. There needs to be an institution to help people who need it and to provide and sanctuary for the people who can not get
Introduction Multi-disciplinary healthcare teams are important and critical in developing the comprehensive care and treatment for patients. Communication is indispensable for providing comprehensive services. One big challenge of communication between different parties in teams is causing the potential for conflict. Most of the organizations are inevitable encountering conflict and the clinical healthcare setting is no exception (Almost, 2006; Pavlakis et al., 2011). The term conflict is described as a dynamic process underlying a wide variety of organizational behavior occurs whenever interdependent parties pursue incompatible goals, incompatible relationships or scarce resources which develop between two or more individuals in an organization
Ethical Issues in Nursing: Nurse-Patient Ratios Megan Harvey, Katie McKelvery, Erica Robbins & Cassandra Tingley St. Johns River State College March 2018 Ethical Issues in Nursing: Nurse-Patient Ratios Every day nurses are faced with ethical dilemmas. Challenges in these situations are becoming more and more complex due to increasing workload and sicker patients. When a nursing unit is understaffed not only are nurses more likely to become burnt out, but their patients are far less likely to receive the quality of care they deserve. The problem is that the Federal regulations require hospitals who participate in Medicare to “have ‘adequate’ numbers of licensed nurses (RN, LPN, CNA) to provide care to all patients as needed,” but the regulations

As adolescences enter adulthood, they enter a long transitional period, often known as “emerging adult”. This transitional period takes place over a range of 18 to 25 years old (Santrock, 2013). At this stage, emerging adults are still in exploration in the various aspect of life such as the career path they are interested in, defining their identities and a style of living they would want to adopt. Thus, adolescences who are in transition will be caught with many intense changes and will experience major life events that are all of great importance.
Now I will be telling you about the effects of exercise on one’s mental health and resiliency. The University of Texas Medicine performed a study consisting solely of people with depressive disorders and had half of them do 30 minutes of physical exercise a day, while the other half were told to make no changes to their levels of physical activity. The exercising group claimed to be feeling better now compared to before the study, and the other group had no change. Many studies have worked to document a relationship between exercising and mental health, like a different study from the University of Texas Medicine which concluded that people who work out regularly are half as likely to have depression compared to people who do not. The amount of physical activity recommended to get mental health benefits is the same of that of obtaining academic benefits, which is 30-60 minutes per day.
INTRODUCTION: Attention Step: According to the article “Exercise Makes You Younger,” “Research shows that physical inactivity can cause premature death as well as chronic disease and disability" (54). Establish Need/Relevance: Nowadays technology and busy work schedules have prevented many people from including exercise into their daily activities. Many people think that it is too time consuming and rather not work
Challenges of Establishing a Therapeutic Nurse-Patient Relationship in Obese Patients Obesity is a major problem in the United States today. Neil (2015) relates social factors of obesity with how society, which includes health care professionals, sees overweight persons. There is a stigmatization that is associated with being obese. This stigmatization of being obese results in a lack of respect (Neil 2015.
Phases of therapeutic relationship: Pre-Orientation: • This is a phase in which a nurse goes through before the actual interaction with the client. • This phase begins when the nurse is assigned a client to develop therapeutic relationship with him, till she goes to him for interaction. • Reaction of the nurse in pre- interaction phase . • The nurse feels and thinks about the client before interaction according to her knowledge, fears and mis-concepts • Express feelings of inadequacy and fear of hurting or exploiting the client .
Mental health plays a huge role in the everyday lives of people and their physical health. While some think that mental health services are not important, should not be provided to many, and should not be available in schools, mental health care should be available to all who need it for free and be available in schools. Free mental health can help those struggling and the public be aware of the issues, help those get the help they need, protect the individual and
The care process includes the interaction among doctor, patient and (healthcare) structure, which leads to two distinct processes: technical interventions (use of clinical care) and interpersonal interaction (humanism, sensitivity) among users and healthcare workers (Campbell et al, 2000). Moreover, in the same article the two dimensions of effectiveness are named as the following: clinical dimension and interpersonal care dimension. The service provider should attempt to perform the service in a convenient way, comforting and pleasing, as patients perceive these characteristics as indications of care (Donabedian, 1988). Donabedian (1988) underlined the importance of the relationship between doctor and patient, as patient and doctor can have
Moreover, exercise can also improve the mental health as it improves memory, helps to sleep better, and alleviate stress.
