I feel like I coped incredibly well with this during the activity as I was able to give the correct amount of help needed for each individual. I understood that the children required different prompts, explanations and levels of time in order for them to answer the questions. I tried my best to include all the children and felt like the activity was positive overall.
A fun activity could be to have the children play a game, children with blue eyes stand up, children with brown hair put your left foot in front of your right foot, children with a cat at home put your hand on your head etc... I feel this would be a fun way for the children to see differences & help them to accept their peers for their differences!
3. Be ready 4. Tune in to the children even more. 5. Participation helps them thrive.
This demonstrated Component 3c of Domain 3: Engaging student in learning. While leading the Music time at the Preschool Lab, the students enjoyed learning while singing. This provided many fun activities in teaching academics and social skills that could be fun, simple and easy to share with others at any time. Also in the Preschool Lab, many activities involved hands-on interaction so that these early learners could develop their fine and gross motor skills and social skills in working with other students.
Competency Statement 1: To establish a safe, healthy learning environment When you are an Early Childhood educator there are some key factors that you have to keep in mind: 1. Creating a safe environment and 2. Creating and instilling in your students and yourself a healthy environment. Safety to me is a very detrimental factor in Early Childhood, because when you deal with young children you always have to watch out for their well being as if they were your own.
The children in a school are valued, with an environment that fully encourages and celebrates their learning and progression and how they are developing. The provision of a safe and secure learning environment for all its pupils should be provided through recognizing the importance of welcoming diversity and equal opportunities. The atmosphere within a school should be positive, with this being reflected in the attitudes of the staff and pupils, all caring for and taking pride in their surroundings and in how the learning journey of each pupil takes
The key factors that provide a supportive speech, language and communication environments are – The physical environment is very important when creating a safe and secure setting that can support each child’s or young person’s individual learning needs and development to the best of their ability. The physical environments factors can include: • Noise levels • Lighting • Space • Distractions • Clear routines • Relaxes atmosphere • Adapted room and resources • Familiarity • Visual support aids. The roles and responsibilities of staff is that we should all understand our own roles and others carrying them out to the best of our abilities within the setting. in my setting at Grove Primary School, we make sure we can provide children and young people with their own key worker and they will have set activities and resources where their key worker will work alongside the child or group of children.
Through implement activities in this classroom, I observed that children have capacity to use materials in variety of ways to learn and explore base on their experiences and interests. Even though I have planned my activity and image how children might approach to the materials, I restrain instructions and let children express how they play and learn. I stay beside to observe and assist when children needed. It is treasure to see how children excited to learn and be creative. In the classroom, I’m sensitive to individual differences and abilities.
Safety My plan for maintaining a safe environment would be to make sure there are fire extinguishers that are in working condition. There also needs to be a carbon monoxide/smoke detector. Along with that the staff and children that work there should know the emergency procedures for every natural disaster or problems that may happen.
Other play activities could include, role play and dressing up. The use of dolls, puppets and cuddly toys. Using books to increase vocabulary.
Allow space: This will enable children to be able to roam around and allow them to feel empowered. Open plan settings will allow the children to decide what they want to play Be flexible with the activities provided: To be an inclusive practitioner, you should be able to adapt the games and activities played within your work place to ensure all children are able to take part and don 't feel like an outsider within their own community For example: Child A who is deaf should have nurses and teachers communicating with them through the use of Makaton and PECS. to allow them to Chose the songs and nursery rhymes they like along with Child
Due to this what could take place instead is for the early years practitioner to gather other resources for the children to use for the activity or to just to begin a different activity for the children to join in with. Staffing can become a barrier too. When playing with children it is important that at least another adult is in the room with you. If not then it could potentially have an impact on you completing the activity. If a child has a disability or
U1 AC 2.1 - Explain ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment. A number of ways to establish a safe and supportive learning environment is to stay within what is deemed as conventional rules and disciplines. A typical class room layout is rows of desks and chairs facing the front, it is the usual expected layout for learners and encourages them to accept conformity, something as simple as sitting on the chairs facing the front of the classroom is reassuring to the majority that the class is safe. In days of yesteryear the students would be expected to stand up when the teacher entered the room and wait for permission to be seated, thankfully those days are in the distant past and now it is acceptable to remain talking until the teacher is ready to begin class.
Theme Decoration Tadika Lai Meng believe that the environment of classroom has such a strong roles in children’s development, as children spend the amount of time in these environment and the environment can reflect the teacher’s values, philosophy and beliefs about children and learning thought either is design with elaborately or inexperiences design.
