Obtaining A College Degree

In the world we live in today. Going to college is no longer a choice, or privilege, but rather a need for a brighter future . So the big question that happens to be going around is, “Is College really worth it?”According to Andrew J. Rotherham’s article “Actually, college is very much worth it.”, “5 Ways Ed Pays”produced by (The College board), and “Why College Isn't (And Shouldn’t have to be) For Everyone” written by Robert Reich. The answer to that question is yes. Though there are many individuals who believe that college is not for everyone, attending college and getting a higher education can open the gates to many tremendous life changing opportunities such as becoming healthier, begin able to secure jobs, and earning more financially.

Above all, attending college is a major commitment of time and money, but it is also a down payment on success. Earning your college degree will help you realize your goals in your career as well as life in general. It requires a lot of hard work, but that work prepares you for a challenging and rewarding career and a more colorful

Being a first generation student in my family has always motivated my desire to succeed academically. So, I was always encouraged to put my education in front of everything else. I believe that going to college will help me figure out my hidden skills and develop my full potential to adjust in the real world. I want to be a psychologist, helping and counselling people. For this, I need to earn a doctorate degree. Besides, college will help me to meet new people, gain experience and skills to get a decent job.

When you grow up, you get pressured into believing that college is the only way to succeed. As a child all throughout our life we are told that going to college will guarantee us a successful future. By successful many people mean that your secured a job after graduating and you will not have to struggle in life as much as people who didn’t go to college. But what if actually going to college may not guarantee you a successful future? Many college students after graduating are unemployed. Also, going to college can be a very expensive cost. While leaving many college graduates in debts of about 27,000 dollars or more. Going to college is just not worth it because it will not guarantee you a job in your degree, leaves a lot of graduates in debt, and going to college can be very expensive.

The only way to achieve a successful life is going to college and becoming educated. Post-secondary is a big decision most teenagers have to make .The importance of having a college degree could cost you a job. Most people overlook the difference in the amount of pay with having a college degree. Even though debt is the main reasons people steer away from college it can be paid off easily. A rising issue in today’s society is deciding whether or not college is worth the cost. There is an extreme amount of pressure that is forced upon high school students by parents, teachers, and peers to further their education and attend college. However, there is research that challenges the thought that college is the best possible path for a person to take. College may be a great investment for some people, but it is not meant for everyone. This is supported by the arguments that colleges are expensive, jobs do not always require a college degree, and students are forced to choose a lifestyle before being exposed to the real world.

It has taken many years for people in society to break out of the norms and expectations of how to grow up and live in the world. A huge factor in this “revolution”: attending college. Whether it is taking a gap year to discover the world and the waiting opportunities, or simply running with it all after high school to work, attending college isn’t considered a given anymore. Now not all cases are the same for every person, therefore they can only decide what is the best path for them after high school. Still, the benefits of a being a college graduate will never be diminished. Because in fact, that “gap year” could turn into two or even three years of sitting and deciding what to do in life. Or jumping right into working right after high school, leads to realizing there aren’t many jobs to provide and support oneself. Although many may continue to believe that attending college right after high school isn’t the right path for success, taking advantage of gaining a college education right away is essential for success in life because college broadens job and career opportunities and provides necessary experiences to thrive in the real world after school.

I never had a choice in how to lead my life, until I got to the summer of my senior year of high school. During that time, I had to decide whether college was the right path for me to take. Being here for the past five months has shown me that this was the right choice. Recent high school graduates can decide whether college is right for them. Even if statistics prove repeatedly that they will be better off in life by going to college, there are reasons that high school graduates have that prevent them from pursuing a higher education. Based on my personal experience and the experiences of others around me, I say the positive outcomes are better eventually than the negatives.

Every and each day instructors teach education and train graduates right out of highschool that are not able to attend a college because of all the mind blowing expenses that have to go into just enrolling. You could always apply for financial aid and get help with the cost of it. Now there are good advantages from a college degree that make a big impact on how much money you'll earn or the amount of hours you work then just having a highschool diploma. Later on those debts will get paid of and you'll be debt free by your good paying job.

Tuitions is not all we need to worry about if you can get a college scholarship in almost anything you put your mind to help pay for college.

The majority of people today live to tell their rags to riches story of how they have acquired if not all a great deal of what they own due to their individual hard work. Once a young adult is enrolled in college, they consume a massive amount of responsibility and gain their own sense of independence if their sense of the concept was originally weak. My dream as a person in the life is to be successful against all odds. the surest way to be successful in this life is by going to college and earning a good degree.
