Occasional Essay Everybody has that one thing that makes them go to bed excited for tomorrow and wake up with a positive attitude for the day. That one thing for me is drama. Drama has changed my life and made me open my eyes to how people treat me. now, you may be asking, “how did this open your eyes to people around you?”. well, it all started in first grade with my best friend, Jeannette. Jeannette and I would hang out every day and spend every second together. we would have our birthdays together too, since we were both born on February 9th, 2001. Jeanette doesn’t have a good home life, so she would always be at my house. in 2012, my house was destroyed in hurricane sandy and we moved to a house that is five minutes away from her house in walking distance. since then, we were inseparable. I didn’t know it at the time, but Jeanette was a huge bully to me. one of the reasons why I don’t think that I realized that she was mean to me, is because she was my only friend. I was very scared to do this because I didn’t want to be judged by people I didn’t know. For me, it was hard to make new friends because I felt threatened by my “best friend”. even though I was very nervous, Evan help me get through it. I would practice singing my audition song to him and he would comfort me and tell me that I was doing great. He would also give me tips on what I could do better. I walked into the audition room when it was my time, I started singing, and I froze up. at this point, I was scared to death. I looked out the door window to see Evan smiling in at me. he gave me two thumbs up and all of a sudden I felt a rush of confidence. I finished my song and I was told that the cast list will be out soon. about a week later, the cast list came out as promised. I was very insecure and almost positive that I will look on the paper and not see my name. To my surprise I was
I bring drama here, we just don’t let it get out of control… okay, sometimes it does, but not the kind of drama that comes from mistrust and jealousy. Unless you include the time you thought I spent the night with Ant.” “Don’t remind me babe, I was an asshole.
Recently, a friend of the family, Lindsey, and my sister, Karie, went to Petco to volunteer. Earlier this year, during spring break, we went there often. So, considering this project required some sort of community involvement, and since we all had been wanting to go for a while now, I decided to call up Linsday and schedule some time we could all go together. Linsday is 19 and goes to college at Washburn University, originally on a softball scholarship, but just this summer she decided to quit softball in order to focus on other things in her life. I respected that, but still I was sad to see her leave something behind, especially something she was so brilliantly good at!

Most of the time on T.V. when a character is faced with a major conflict, their time and thought is focused on fixing it. During the time of said conflict, interpersonal relationships might be neglected and the conflict is used as an excuse. In reality, conflict affecting interpersonal relationships is a problem within itself. In “Red Badge of Courage” by Stephen Crane and a series of Nick Adams stories by Ernest Hemingway, it is shown that conflict affects interpersonal relationships by causing strain upon the parties and the bonds through loss and lack of mental space, suggesting conflict desensitizes people.
After H.A.P.P.Y. was over Maggie and I hung out pretty much the entire summer of my eighth grade year. I remember feeling so blessed to have found someone as quirky and outgoing as I was. Finally my freshman year came about and Maggie and I were still inseparable. As I entered high school the weight from middle school had dropped and I was finally feeling confident with myself.
I was dressed in concert attire, nervous, and an hour early. I sat in the auditorium room with all the other people trying out. I eagerly waited and watched all of my competitors be pulled into audition halls that held many audition rooms. I was so scared, but I was ready to get it over

We had to wait in a room so the judges could get all the scores in. When they were done they put a poster up that had people 's numbers that had made it. I went looking for my number and it was on their I was so excited I couldn 't stop smiling. It was great to be at every game with my sister but the main thing I learned was the more I opened up the more fun I would have by being a shy kid to be dancing in front of hundreds of people was a ‘’little bit nerve racking
People face problems every day, and the problems people face can be big or small, important or silly. Conflict is incorporated into everyone’s lives, and sometimes we can find a solution. Conflict can be caused by yourself or someone else. In the story, “The Open Window” by H. H. Munro, the visitor gets told a scary story and has a conflict when the story comes true, which causes him to run away, as he had an internal conflict : his fears. In the “Gift of Magi”, the conflict is that Della doesn’t have enough money to buy Jim a present, and her hair is her only prized possession.
Many thoughts went through my mind that night, the one I remember the most being “Does something about me need to change”? From the beginning of me being in the high school band, I tried my hardest to be as cool and likeable as possible. Before I moved to my new high school, which was in a different city than my middle school, all everyone cared about was being cool, sports, and having the nicest things. I picked up on this and
