Have you ever just not wanted cafeteria food? Or maybe something different from home food? Well maybe you can! Students should be allowed to leave campus during lunch because we are responsible. To being with, students should be allowed to go off campus because we are reliable. I’ve heard from various adults that they use to go off campus for lunch, but what happened? Our generation did nothing wrong. Another thing is that if students are responsible enough to turn work in and get good grades, there should be nothing wrong with us going off campus for less than 30 minutes to get something to eat. However some people may argue that kids will skip if they leave campus, and yes in fact that will happen. But that’s their problem if they are
If I were to change one thing in my community, I would change the school lunches, because they taste horrendous, and they need to be healthier. First, the lunches should not be processed foods because those use a lot of chemicals that are harmful to the body. Some examples of processed foods are foods that come pre made or from a box or a can. Processed foods usually contain more con syrup and sugars, usually addicting and can make you gain weight, contains many artificial ingredients, high in carbohydrates, and uses lots of oils that are usually processed as well.
Over 30.3 million kids in the U.S. alone eat free or reduced price school lunches, these lunches were meant to keep kids full and happy through the day but that might not be the case anymore. Millions of kids go to school every day and a big part of the day is when the students are able to eat lunch and socialize, but a problem not many people think about at school plagues the lunch room. Schools offer many different assortments of foods, including the high processed and fatty foods and snacks that not only can cause health problems, but can cause kids to feel sluggish throughout the day. School lunches need to include more organic and locally grown options instead of the highly processed foods currently served, because the it does not provide
Every day students enjoy their lunches at school. They always enjoy eating their delicious meals where they have the option to chose what they want. If their lunch is changed then their options will be limited. Changing the lunch to be healthier will not be something that will be very great for our school. If the school lunch is changed then some of the students that are larger could not get the nutrition they need and hurt the ones that really need those extra calories.
Therefore, whatever restaurant is on campus or close to campus is where students have to go to eat lunch. However, if there was a food court on campus, then students could easily grab their lunch and get back to class or studying. With
As I walked into the cafeteria, I caught a whiff of the food being prepared in the cafeteria and thought to myself, “Why can’t we go off-campus to get lunch?” While SLA, the lunch program at Catholic High, provides the school lunches, there could be an alternative solution to this. Unfortunately, students are detained at school during lunch hours and are not able to leave campus during lunch forcing them to be served by SLA or bring their own lunch. If Catholic High School were to introduce an open-campus lunch, students and faculty would benefit greatly. While SLA does provide the lunch at CHS, they do not live up to their standard of “high quality, nutritious, and cost efficient”.
Students Should Have Open Campus Lunch Periods Pinterest states, “Lunch hour is the best hour of the day.” Some students may not enjoy school lunches. Going off campus can open up more choices. Eating a good lunch can help students pay attention in school. I believe that students should have open campus lunches.
During lunchtime, students generally make their way through the crowded cafeteria to sit with their friends, and enjoy their lunch while being supervised; however, many schools are now authorizing students to have an open campus lunchtime. An open campus allows students to leave school campus unsupervised to have lunch or hang out at a local restaurant or business. Having an open campus is beneficial because it allows students to gain independence, responsibility, trust, the health of students, socialize with friends, and help increase business at local restaurants. Therefore, I believe Arapahoe should continue to have an open campus for the benefit of our students. Having an open campus allows students to leave the school grounds to have lunch outside and be able to socialize with their peers.
School could get out earlier if there wasn 't an extra period saved for lunch. Schools could even get an extra period to put in the day for an extra class or just more time to add onto the classes that are already going on in school. Kids would also be healthier if they did not eat the lunch from school because you never know how much fat, grease, and unhealthy ingredients are in school lunches. Even though school lunches make a lot of students not feel good, it could be a good idea to have lunch so they get energy and are not hungry throughout the day.
Like lunchtime that which could be enough time for anyone to have some time to relax and socialize with their friends at school. At any time in which a student can get board and in any given idea of getting outside of school is fun. In any fact that it might not be a good idea, and that spending their free time chilling in school with their comrades. In any fact that their are some students are behind in their classes and have nothing but pure F or D in their grades. In any case of social media and entertainment could also be a good choice for students to have fun time in their school.
Last but not least the fairness to all students especially ones that only meal they get to eat each day is the one they
Having access to a cafeteria would limit the amount of students that leave campus for lunch. Students are known to leave
Open campus at lunch time is a huge advantage for high school students, and is a great punishment as well. The student's responsibility to come back to school on time will have consequences if students don't follow it. This will help them realize that the word is run by rules and if people don't follow them, there will always have consequences. Students will be gaining responsibility for collage and the real world after that. To succeed in life people need independence, maturity, and responsibility.
Well often times teenagers are seen as irresponsible, but this is not always the case. There are tons of responsible teens out there that could handle leaving school for lunch. Sometime the teens don’t even want to go out to eat, sometimes they just need a break to recharge. Off-campus lunch provides money for our community, the students mature and learn to become responsible adults, not to mention they get a nice break from their learning environment.
Studies show that overweight students tend to have more problems with learning and paying attention (Miura). Many parents also fear that children would have the chance to skip school of get into drugs and alcohol while they are loose for their lunch break. People of the communities have also expressed their fears of increased traffic and increased risk of traffic collisions (?9 Primary Pros and Cons of Open Campus Lunch?). Not only can open lunches cause health problems, but they can lead to other dangers such as a car crash or
It becomes very difficult for students who participate in sports directly after school or those who ride the bus to find time to meet with a teach to get help. If they were to stay after school the students who ride a bus would risk missing their bus which lead to a difficult situation for their parents. Many parents are working eight to five jobs or multiple jobs and can’t take an hour to pick their student up and drive them home. If a student missed the bus because they stayed after school their parent could end up losing their job because they had to leave work. A longer lunch break would allow students to go to teachers classrooms and get help during lunch so they don’t miss the bus after school.
