Swidden agriculture also known as slash-and-burn is depicted in a negative light because of myths that has been created from people who are not familiar with its practice or do not understands its purpose. One of the narrative is that it creates a useless and unsustainable land. This could be easily misunderstood as the image of the land after being burned can be seen lifeless and barren. People tend to associate a fertile land with lush greens with the sun in the background and not the image of swidden agriculture. Furthermore, media portrayal of wildfire only puts the idea that wildfire are harmful and should be put out which only makes swidden agriculture seem destructive.
Moreover, I expected to find small plants near the edge and tall trees near the interior because the tall-tree canopy prevented small plants from receiving light to grow near the interior. The Point Quarter Method was used
The soil had visibly changed from a moist black organic soil to a much dryer lighter in color sandy consistency. The canopy changed as well, more oaks and elm trees were present and the buttressing of the tree trunks was significantly reduced. The magnolia tree was also starting to be introduced into the area, another indicator that the habitat was moving away from the wetter locations. "The Bean" by Anish Kapoor invites contemplation on the themes of power and control and the ways in which they can lead to a distorted view of the world. "The Bean" is a bean-shaped shiny sculpture made of stainless steel, located in Chicago's Millennium Park. It is designed to distort and change the reflections of its surroundings, creating a kaleidoscope-like effect that shifts and changes as viewers move around it. This garbled view of reality can be seen as a metaphor for how power and ambition can corrupt one's perception of reality. When viewing oneself or the cityscape on the surface of "The Bean," the reflections are twisted and warped, creating a surreal and dreamlike experience.

The “cattail” part of the plant can grow up to almost three centimeters in width. The spike at the top of the plant can group up to six inches long. The leaves are flat, green leaves with “parallel veins running the long narrow length of the leaf” (“Typha latifolia L.” 2). Cattails are monoecious, the male flower is the spike on top of the plant while the female flower is the brownish “corn dog”.
