Oklahoma is the Heartland of America. When visiting Oklahoma for a vacation we have three great places to visit. These three places would be the highlight of any vacation, no matter the time of year a visit is planned. But do not just limit Oklahoma down to only three places worthy of visiting. This state is rich with heritage, amusement parks, and museums. There are many things to do with family and friends in this great state.
First on the list is Jenks Aquarium, which is located in Jenks, Oklahoma. The Jenks Aquarium is a great experience for adults and kids alike. The aquarium has some pretty cool attractions. There are variety of different fish to look at; both fresh water and salt water fish are included. White Water is a huge water park and a great place to cool off. One of the attractions is a Lazy River, which has water jets that pushes visitors through a canal that winds throughout the park. The park also includes a wave pool that pushes and pulls water causing waves that get bigger and bigger as water depth increases. White Water isn 't just a day time event; throughout the summer months they host movie nights. This event is held in the wave pool, with the waves turned off so people can float freely without bumping into others. A huge screen is lowered and popular movies are shown to the crowds. It 's like a drive-in theater, except movie-goers are in rafts instead of cars!
These three places are just some of the attractions that Oklahoma holds. This state has just about anything a heart desires. Whether it be a family vacation or a place to take someone special, Oklahoma has it all. Enjoy amusement parks, concerts, and last but now least, our hospitality. Growing up in a small town, I have gone to the Mississippi Valley Fair all my life. Nonetheless, the attractions compared to the Iowa State Fair are very poorly put together. The rides at the Iowa State fair are not only larger in size, but also generate a much smoother ride for the riders. There is even one day of the week during the fair when one can buy a wristband and ride all the rides you want. One of my favorite rides that my friend and I went on was probably the fireball.
Oklahoma Sooners Football People travel from all over Oklahoma and the United States to watch Oklahoma Sooners Football. From waiting for hours outside of Gaylord Memorial Stadium to finally getting in to watch the game, OU Football has definitely earned their spot as one of the biggest hot spots in College Football. Through the nail-biting games to the blowouts and loses, OU Football is one of the most successful programs in College Football history. OU Sooner Football has been a very successful program with great coaches, players, and traditions.
Big City, TX vs Small Town, OK Texas and Oklahoma are similar in a couple ways, but are actually particularly different from one another. It is crazy how immense of a transformation 600 miles really makes. Oklahoma and Texas share common ground on the account of the love for the south and the love for football. For example two endangered species are the red cocked woodpecker and the whooping crane. Both of these animals habitats were being destroyed, but now Oklahoma’s park rangers are keeping them safe. There are also a lot of plants in Oklahoma.
The “Sooner State,” more formally known as Oklahoma, has a wide range of picturesque terrain. The state’s landscape includes forests, the Great Plains along with hills and lakes. It also has a huge Native American presence, with over 25 different Native American languages spoken. Oklahoma is a state that played a big role in American History. Visitors can learn about this role by visiting the Western Heritage and National Cowboy Museums in the state’s capital city, Oklahoma City.
