Optical Microscopy makes use of a light source to illuminate the sample and uses lenses to magnify the image. This system is coupled with CCD and CMOS to get digital images. Light microscope has two basic divisions, simple microscope and compound microscope.
Confocal microscopy and fluorescent microscopy, in addition to the techniques used by light microscope uses other techniques to extract image details.
Optical Microscopy utilizes white light and the size range of the particle that could be viewed is limited to half of its wavelength i.e. particle size is limited to 200 nm. For confocal a resolution in 50-100 nm range can be obtained.
Measurements performed:-
Rate of fluorescence, dimensions of living cells, rate of scattering

• To describe Nano mechanical effect of charged molecules on single DNA molecules [8].
• To determine the flexural rigidity of individual microtubules bound to polystyrene beads [9].

Optical tweezers are able to generate higher trapping forces for a given laser power and can be constructed with lower NA microscope objectives[10] Trap stiffness depends on the gradient of the optical field present. Moreover optical perturbations will affect the intensity or the intensity distribution.
Optical tweezers can be used to directly measure forces on trapped objects with a greater accuracy[10] Optical interference can result in the generation of ghost traps.
With the help of optical tweezers we can isolate a single molecule thus simplifying the system under consideration. This eliminates the interactions between other molecules that might complicate the analysis [10]. Optical tweezers also lack selectivity and exclusivity [11] i.e. Optical tweezers exert force on microscopic objects that are transparent to laser light. Since there are numerous such objects inside a cell, optical tweezers cannot selectively operate in the intracellular
Question Set 7 A) What types of methods and tools are used to measure, document and analyze ancient fault activity along the San Andreas Fault and its associated faults? For example, how do geologists determine how long a fault has been active, how often it ruptures, its relative offset motion, and how much offset? Note that the term "ancient" means fault activity that occurred thousands to millions of years ago - long before seismologists were around. Nucleophilic Substitution: Preparation of 1-Bromobutane and Alkyl Halide Classification Tests Introduction This procedure was undertaken in order to convert a primary alcohol, 1-butanol, into a primary alkyl halide, 1-bromobutane. This was done using hydrobromic acid. Additionally, tests were performed to assess the degree of the alkyl halide: primary, secondary or tertiary.
THE BENEFITS OF DIAMOND MICRODERMABRASION Farlon | Dermabrasion is a procedure in which the uppermost layers of skin are removed. Abrasive materials such as sandpaper may be used, or the abrasion may be achieved with lasers. Dermabrasion is often used to remove wrinkles, acne and other scars and moles. For these reasons, this surgery is generally considered to be cosmetic, but the improved self-image and self-esteem that it may provide cannot be overlooked. It is also used to remove tattoos.
Synopsis Detecting whether an athlete is concussed, or not concussed, has always been left up to the medical professionals. A concussion is a bruise to the brain brought on by a forceful blow to the upper body, neck or head region. The brain is said to be bouncing around inside your head, like a marble inside a shaken glass jar. New technologies have been on the rise since the NFL (National Football League), lost a class action lawsuit brought on by former pro football players in 2013. The cost to the NFL, over $760 million dollars.
Pseudomyxoma Peritonei Diagnosis Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is difficult to diagnose. For diagnosing PMP as well as verifying the development of the disease, several tests are available. PMP can often be found during treatment of or operation performed for other medical problems. The selection of tests applicable to a particular patient as well as the frequency of the tests is discussed with a doctor. The tests vary depending on the symptoms that arise.

Obtain a small sample of the red epidermal cells from the stalk of the rhubarb by carefully peeling away the layer with forceps. Prepare a wet mount slide of the rhubarb tissue in distilled water only. View your slide under low power on your microscope, and then switch to high power. Draw a diagram of the field of view, and label.

Describe the main difference between a compound light microscope and a dissecting scope. The main difference between a compound light microscope and a dissecting scope is that a light microscope has a higher resolution and a dissecting scope displays the image in a 3D form. 6. a. Distinguish between magnification and resolution? The difference between magnification and resolution is that magnification refers to how large an object appears compared to its actual size, while resolution describes how clear the specimen can be viewed in the microscope.
Once the knowledge of the interaction between the tissue and wavelength is known, the veterinarian can modify delivery systems and wavelengths that correspond with their specific needs. The main idea of this article is to explain how the laser become such a trend, the wavelengths that different lasers offer for specific needs, and future innovations in veterinary lasers. The conclusion of this article is that the quality of enhancing therapeutic, surgical, and biochemical considerations is continually being processed and

The purpose of the Spinach Leaf Chromatography Lab was to determine how much chlorophyll a, b and carotenes and xanthophylls the Spinach leaf contained through measuring the distance traveled by the pigments. The hypothesis the group created was that a spinach leaf contained multiple pigments. The group after doing the chromatography of the spinach leaf then determined the rate or flow of migration using Rf(Distance pigment traveled/ distances solvent 2. Materials and Methods A 2x15 strip of chromatography paper was cut so that it would fit inside the test tube. Then a point was cut in the bottom 0.5 cm of the strip.
The following section will consider advantages and limitation of the first two mentioned types of digital forensics: Traditional (dead) and Live computer forensics. TRADITIONAL (DEAD) VS LIVE DIGITAL FORENSICS Traditional (Dead) Forensics In order forensic acquisition to be more reliable it must be performed on computers that have been powered off. This type of forensics is known as ‘traditional’ or 'dead ' forensic acquisition. The whole process of dead acquisition, including search and seizure flowchart and acquisition of digital evidence flowchart is shown on Figure 2 and Figure 3 respectively.
