Orange County is a place which has a great influence on other parts of the country and even the world. It highlights the greatness of living in the United States, yet it doesn’t see how it shows the worst of American’s that live here. Orange County has the power to change the physical and cultural characteristics of other places around the world. Who knew that a little county in California could have such a huge impact on culture in other countries around the world? It is used as an example for many places in terms of architecture, fashion and lifestyle. Developers are using the architecture of Orange County to base their new building on. For example, if you look at Las Vegas, it looks awfully familiar to some of the attractions at Disneyland (Goldberg 77). It is not surprising to see that people are looking to Orange County as a benchmark of what they want their projects and other to look like. An amazing example of this is the “Orange County” in Beijing. What this refers to is an entire community designed by a developer from Newport Beach (Week 11). It really is amazing that these people come here or see it on T.V. and they went their homes to look exactly like the homes that are in Orange County.

It is looked at as New England was looked at in the early days of America (Meinig 166). People wish they could live in these conditions. Ultimately, this is the reason that so many people flock to the United States. Despite them seeing that and assuming that life in America is like this everywhere, it isn’t.
