Abstract
Lately there has been a change in the traditional career model. More people are opting to work as a freelancers and companies, both large and small, are adapting to this change and seeking to outsource. Freelancers work in an organization for a certain period. Organisational behavior is the study that investigates the way individuals and groups behave within and towards an organization. This behavior will create a work environment that can either lead a company to its success or failure.

According to Freelancers Union “53 million” report, 34% of the national workforce in the U.S alone are working as freelancers. Since freelancers have the liberty of choosing their work, companies outsourcing may not consider developing a strong organizational culture or may seem to find it impossible to manage a strong culture. As freelancers don’t work in the office like regular employees, they generally tend to distant themselves from the companies with which they are working. Aside from its fascinating headquarters and incredible perks, Google is known for its intangibles, its organizational culture. It receives over 1 million resumes each year and they meticulously check every applicant to choose the one that reflects culture. Google has a casual, democratic work atmosphere and flat organizational structure. The lack of too many middle managers helps develop a more open atmosphere to voice their opinions in creating an innovative culture. They have clear mission and values which they practice through transparency and communication. They also have The Founders’ Award that provides incentives and rewards to those who do the best work they can do. These are the few factors why Google has such an impressive culture and has topped the list of Fortune 100’s “Best Companies to Work for” four times. A national survey conducted by Millennial Branding, a Gen Y research and consulting firm, and Beyond.com, a career network entitled “The Multi-Generational Job Search” among job seekers and HR professionals also found that 43% of the 2,979 respondents claimed that “culture fit” was one of the most important factors in hiring process.
