According to path-goal theory, leader provides needed direction and support for subordinates to achieve organizational goals (Silverthorne, 2001). Richard et al. (2012) said that path-Goal theory suggests that leaders may not only use similar behaviours with different subordinates but may use different behaviours with same subordinates in certain situation. It is importance because leader can use the leadership styles of path-goal theory to improve their subordinates’ work efficiency.

Self-internalizing the importance of a goal is not something that occurs in a vacuum, even though the decision is made on an individual basis, because external influences constantly shape or even change our values. Our personal values are quite dynamic, changing over time as the social mores in our society evolve.

Importance and benefits of managing this diversity There is prescription that a company could apply to be successful, therefore it depends on the capability of the leader to sort out what is best to the organisation based on the level of productivity of the workplace. One day session of training and programs is inadequate to change a person’s behaviour and styles, therefore the company need continuous development, implementation and maintaining trainings and awareness foundation. In order to find leaders who are a part of the diversity movement, you have to find companies that have the reputations for successfully influencing diversity. When you find those companies and leaders, you then have to assess the leaders progress by examining leadership attitudes, employment statistics, and third-party recognition. Cultural differences should also be taken into account when assessing companies and their leaders about diversity. Advancing diversity needs to be approached intentionally as a personal mission.
