It may have taken me 4 years but I did it. You guys may not know what facials are but in dance they are the fakest smiles you can have and you need to put them on for every routine and competition. I was so shy that I never did them and by senior year I would have the biggest smile ever and it wasn’t even fake I loved performing so much. Dance also was somewhere I could leave my stress behind and talk to my teammates about anything. Practice was fun for me even when we had to be there every day at 530 in the morning right before school.
Weather it's the last sip of milkshake or your very existence, people tend to take things for granted until they're taken away from us. Just as a race, people have a hard time realizing how nice or easy something is until our perception changes by that something being taken away. Morrie was one person who never did this. He always saw everyday as a blessing and lived it too the fullest. This pro only explains why his life was so full of fun and excitement.
The first leaf is always the most appreciated by everyone. In this line of the poem Robert Frost tells us that “Her early leaf’s a flower;” (3) When the first leaf sprout it miraculous, like a flower, but for some reason, after awhile it becomes less amazing, it is just a leaf. When the new iPhone comes out it is amazing but the old one becomes less amazing or “so last year”. Even if people are not interested in iPhones they still have that one thing for example Xbox or for adults the new KitchenAid wireless mixer. Robert Frost observes that once things get good they can not
Does waking up early make your whole day longer, and make you tired the whole day? Well imagine having to do work and going to school like that everyday. With all the sports the kids have, and the homework how can you go to sleep early. They will always be tired and not focused for their morning classes. A solution to this is that school start times should be pushed will help the kids focus and do better in the morning class.
Eyes Like a Shutter, Mind Like a Lens I never thought that a credit card sized image would mean so much to me. As a going away present, I received a brand new polaroid camera from my parents. At the moment, I was excited; but subconsciously terrified of moving away to school. It's not that I was afraid to live on my own, but rather the fact of having to make new friends and having them like me for who I truly was. Before my mom left she told me “Keep your mind open, and stay positive.
Going to school a little later could be the key to that extra rest. Even 1 hour of rest could be the difference between you falling asleep in classroom and not understanding the material to being attentive and understanding everything that is being taught. When the students are awake, they become smarter, and when they become smarter their test scores begin to rise. When the test scores begin to rise, our world education ranking improves, and that is just what we want to see. The issue for students who attend school at 7:30 in the morning, is they don’t hesitate or think twice about falling asleep.
The book “Jekyll and Hyde” shows how the physical and social effects of drugs can last a lifetime. According to “Frequently Asked Questions About Drugs”, “A study in 2012 found that students subject to mandatory random student drug testing reported less substance use than comparable students in high school without such testing(Frequently Asked Questions About Drugs)”. The previous quote shows how enforcing random drug tests can lower the amount of drug users in high schools. Drug tests need to be enforced in more high schools because, as shown in Jekyll and Hyde, an addiction to drugs can physically hurt a person, destroy friendships, and lead to more trouble later in life.
I told myself everyday to forget about the pain and work hard to make the competition performance great. I didn’t want to spend another year standing on the sidelines of I could be perform with the team. My wrist hurt terribly, but I performed to the best of my ability. The competition went great, and I didn’t feel the pain until after our two minute routine was over. Cheerleading has shown me that my determination, attitude and effort help me accomplish great adventures in life.
The tough parchment paper under my hand made my day ten times better than anything ever could until that moment. I didn’t have to fake a smile for this photo, because I was able to crack a genuine smile for once in my life. Keona and I stood next to one another looking like honored young kids, huddled together with confetti and mortarboards in the air. To be honest, we looked like tenth graders who decided to wear the seniors graduation gear and crash the party. Overall, in that moment I had no worries at all and it showed with the large idiotic smile I had on my face.
How strong the effects of the stimulant are is an area of debate, but some studies show that any amount above 400 milligrams of caffeine per day is unsafe for adults, and particularly dangerous for children (Mayo Clinic). Drinking amounts above this causes a variety of neurological side effects, such as irritability, insomnia, nausea, and anxiety (Drugs.com). Studies have also found that L-Theanine, a major chemical found in caffeinated tea, makes these effects stronger and more pronounced, as it allows your body to absorb the caffeine more efficiently (J, Bryan). But you do not need to consume a large amount of caffeine to experience these side effects, even in the average person just a small dosage can cause pronounced symptoms, though they are less severe in strength (Mayo Clinic). Certain people and groups are vastly more susceptible to caffeine than others as well (Persad, Leeana Aarthi Bagwath).
With the support of my accountability partner and my self-determination, I believe that I can make it without tea for 15 more days! I do plan on rewarding myself with a Sonic sweet tea after this assignment! I cannot wait for that day. I am happy to see the light at the end of tunnel for this assignment. It has been eye opening so far to see what an addict goes through in withdrawal.
So I can say that I did meet my class goal, but I not meet the extra goal that I wanted to which was to lose an extra pound over the spring break. 2. What did you do to meet this goal? To meet this goal, I downloaded an App in my phone that helped me with calorie counting and keeping track of how many calories I needed to consume in order to lose a pound. Another thing that I have been doing is replacing sugar drinks and soda with water.
This poll also found that 56 percent of Americans believe that physician assisted suicide is a morally acceptable act regardless of its legality, and only 37 percent believe it is morally wrong. Additionally, 62 percent of adults agree that a person has a moral right to suicide” (Ralph A Capone). Other states including Oregon, that have passed death-with-dignity laws include Vermont, California, Colorado and Washington. There is a death with dignity bill that is slated to go before the Maine Legislature in support of physician assisted suicide. There is a lot of optimism surrounding this bill, as there’s been two years of experience from Oregon and Vermont, (the latest
Something she dislikes about the job would be waking up early every morning. Another dislike would be the really busy days because it’s more people to watch and so much is happening on every camera. I’m glad I had the opportunity to interview Jasmine. I defiantly learned more about the security aspect when it comes to a job. I think it’s a good job to start out at for a criminal justice student like myself.
These numbers are horrifying. Many teens may not understand how serious abusing these medications may actually be to their health. Many teenagers think because doctors prescribe them legally, there is not a huge issue with taking them. They say they are safer than the illegal drugs (Phillips, 2013). Mendelson, Flower, Pletcher and Galloway (2008) go on to say that “every year since 1999, more than 2 million adults started abusing opioids in the U.S.” In 1999 there were 4,000 reported deaths from overdose of prescription drugs.
