Otto von Bismarck was the Chancellor of Germany and later ruled Prussia before World War 1 and was a great politician. He had a strong foreign policy that was known as realpolitik. Realpolitiks was pretty much a policy where the country’s needs are prioritized despite the morality of the actions taken in the process. He also wanted prevent the Nightmare Coalition from forming. One of his priorities was trying to expand Prussia’s rule. He wanted to make sure that Germany would not get involved in any wars and that he would try to find peace in areas where war is present. Also, he wanted to keep France isolated and not have any contact with them so that a war would not break out between Germany and France. In addition, he wanted to have strong …show more content…
This war started when Nicholas II wanted to gain more power and he tried to expand towards Asia, and sought to take over Korea. Conversely, Japan also wanted to take control of Korea, which was the main cause of the war. This war had left Russia’s navy completely destroyed with a high level of vulnerability for Russia. Also, Russia had controlled Manchuria and Port Arthur, which are located in China, that was where Japan ambushed the Russians and had gotten humiliated in front of many other foreign representatives. This viewing of the embarrassing loss made Russia seem extremely weak and incapable of defending themselves which could be used as an advantage against Russia. Plus, this loss was widely heard of across the world and in the Russian government, that had angered many Russian citizens. Therefore, this war was known to be the cause or start of the Russian Revolution of 1905 that became even more hectic. In addition, during the war, Japan had almost touched bankruptcy and needed a way to get money and food into the country. Then, they requested to have a secret peace sponsor with America to provide them with what they needed. This silent action had an impact on Russia because even though they were also lacking many necessities, they needed more men for the war. This cost Russia to have to accept defeat after their loss at Port …show more content…
For instance, the Russian revolution was caused after how poorly Russia performed in the war which greatly upset many citizens. Plus, now that Russia was proven to be very feeble after their humiliation by Japan, Russia was no longer able to expand its territory in Asia. Another reason why Russia could not expand was because their military fleet had just been decimated and the government does not have enough confidence yet. Also, the Russian government was not receiving much support from the people, so the government needed to find a way to please the people so that they would not attempt to start a revolt. Russia was a nationalist country before the war, but the citizens had started to lose a lot of hopetowards Russia, which caused the people to lose their sense of nationalism. Plus, the workers of Russia were severely upset because Russia had barely enough money to support the citizens and this cost their lives to be very miserable because Russia took any money that they could get their hands on to use for government spending. Ergo, the people organized together and protested against Nicholas II which caused him to make the first constitution giving less power to himself. Overall, the Russo-Japanese took a huge toll on Russia leaving them buried deep in a hole that would be difficult to overcome. Therefore, the Russian government was put under serious stress
On the other hand, the inclusion of Russian forces in a war against Japan was new and could have possibly had more weight when
The Soviet Union feared that Germany attacking from the west and Japan attacking from the east would have led to an ultimate defeat and ended Communism. Roosevelt praised Stalin, the Soviet Union dictator, so he diverted Japan attention from the Soviet Union and cut off Japanese oil supplies and froze their assets. This caused Japan to move southward to conquer smaller Asian countries to obtain more natural resources instead of northward to help the Germans. Japan used these natural resources for fuel and naval vessels so that they could strike back at the United States for cutting of their supplies. If Roosevelt would have left the Soviet Union to defend themselves, Japan would not have conquered other Southern Asian countries and most likely would not have attacked Pearl Harbor.
(Doc. C) With this being said japan was furious in the action the U.S took because they need money for the war which would then meet their goal of controlling Asia. As stated in document E, Japan needed the money that the United States has frozen to pull their troops out of China. Japan needed much of its money to a great amount of things, Japan had already lost a lot of money for the war, freezing the money would cause greater impact for them. Moreover Japan is also increasing tension to the U.S and start seeing the U.S as an enemy, Japan and the U.S have very distant point of views and causes them to not agree on any decision they make therefore, it causes arguments through both countries.
The war killed and wounded a huge number of potential workers, limiting productive capacities for nascent factories and farms across the country. Additionally, deprived of their guaranteed markets in Great Britain, the new country struggled to find new buyers for the goods it did produce. Inflation, too, was an issue; the new government had printed money and gone into debt to finance its war leaving it in desperate financial straits after winning the peace. The financial pressures on its allies and enemies was also immense. Britain saw dissension after the war, and the French monarch's support of the war caused further debt.
Germany has been a nation that had been divided for many centuries, the Germanic tribes had avoided being taken over by the Roman Empire, they had been the seat of the Holy Roman Empire, then after the Holy Roman Empire fall, it became a handful of individual kingdoms and states, with Persia and Austria being the biggest contenders to make a unified Germany. Germany in the early 1860’s was divided mostly because of failed politics and religious divides. One man was the most important driving force behind these Germanic kingdoms becoming the superpower that is Germany. Otto von Bismarck, the Minister President of Prussia and a friend to Persian king, Wilhelm I. Prussia had tried for years to unify the nations, but it wasn’t until Bismarck came along that this began to become a reality.
Germany. Before the second half of the 19th century, Italy was a collection of city-states that were only loosely allied with one another. In 1848 major rebellions broke out within the German confederation, inspired by liberals who envisioned a German nation ruled by parliamentary government. After the attack China declared war on Japan on December 9,1942. Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted the United States to be apart of this so he asked Congress to announce war against Japan to the American people. Eventually, Germany,Italy,Bulgaria,Hungary, and Romania issued war on the U.S. Because so many countries were involved this was the start of WW11. But because we lost so much oil and rubber, it would be a challenge for America to stand a chance against all of our opponents.
Some of those reasons include alliances, militarism, and imperialism. Alliances was one of the underlying causes of this war. Alliances are agreements between countries stating that they’ll help each other in time of need. For example, as shown in document A, the United Kingdom, France, and Russia all had an alliance with each other called the “triple entente”.
Although the war had ended, Russia still had control over Poland, and America was concerned that Russia might continue to take land. Meanwhile in the pacific, America was still in a war with Japan. America’s military was within bombing distance and was firebombing more than 60 cities into ashes. The firebombing did not make the Japanese lose hope.
Roosevelt got involved in the war for the main purpose to keep the balance in East Asia and to protect the United States power in the Pacific. Roosevelt successfully ended the war between Russia and Japan by making a deal with Russia that allowed them to take half of the Manchuria. Roosevelt also made a deal with Japan that allowed them to have control over the other half of Manchuria. This
Hitler always had a deep desire for power. When Germany was in an economy a political crisis, Hitler saw this advantage for him. Aldof Hitler was short-tempered, strict and brutal. And Hitler is responsible for the death of millions. Like Macbeth, Macbeth killed the innocent to keep his rise of power.
One of the main causes for the Crimean War was Tsar Nicholas I wanting to expand his empire into Europe, so that he could get more control and power. Tsar Nicholas I wanted to expand his empire mostly because he believed that the Ottoman Empire was falling and nothing
During the 1900s, many people took pride in their countries and wanted to prove the world how great their country is. And to do that, they would have to declare and win a war against their rivals. It led to the war for the reason that the overconfidence fueled their strength in militarism. This is probably why other countries such as Portugal and Italy joined the war- simply because of their confidence. There were downsides to it- it made the war longer then everyone thought it would be as there were so many countries fighting, hence being called World War 1.
When Russia entered World War I, it had an effect for the outbreak of two revolutions as it brought tensions of Russian society to a drastic point. Although, it has obtained some successes at the beginning, there were many bad losses. By doing this, they overthrown the poorly run government as the Russian people were in favour of a new system that would work in their favour. The Russian Revolution was triggered by the social, political and economic problems, that combined caused the Russian people to rebel.
