Ambushed in the Alps
Ötzi, a man of repute in his tribe, went up into the mountains above his home to seek counsel from the gods. On his return trip, Ötzi was ambushed. He shot some attackers, but one he faces hand-to-hand. Ötzi won his fight, but with it a terrible scar. His hand was wounded so that he could barely use it. Leaving his shattered bow and retrieving his arrows, Ötzi set off once again to his village. Once Ötzi returned, a council was called. It was decided to send a group of warriors into the mountains to find out if any other enemies remained in their land. So Ötzi lead a group of fifteen warriors back up to the mountains. This time weapons of war were brought rather than the hunting weapons that were allowed on a spiritual quest. It was a long hike up the mountains and the large group took their time and stopped for meals and sleep along the way. And so they reached the peak of the mountains and were ambushed. No one can say precisely how the fight proceeded, but it ended with Ötzi’s tribe victorious and Ötzi dead. After the fight, finding their leader dead, Ötzi’s fellows honored him. With his weapons laid out and his gear assembled so that he could find it in the next life, Ötzi the Iceman

Perhaps the most common is the belief that Ötzi was fleeing from a battle when he was shot in the back by an enemy. There are several facts that discredit that theory. One is that after he was shot, Ötzi was hit in the head. Any enemy close enough to knock Ötzi in the head would also have taken his copper axe to use in the battle. This would not have been the case if Ötzi was not alone when he died, but fighting in a skirmish, or small fight. Then his surviving fellow warriors would have protected him and given him an honorable funeral after victory was gained. Also, Ötzi was not fleeing from anything when he died. His full stomach of undigested food proves that the Iceman ate a full meal hours before he
Ötzi The Iceman was found 1991 by two hikers in the Austrian Alps. First police thought it was a lost hiker that died by freezing to death but then multiple tools from the copper age were found near the body and then scientists knew that this man came from the copper age. They Named him Ötzi the Iceman. Ever since he was found, scientist and geologist try to find out the murder case, why Ötzi The Iceman killed?
25 years ago, two unsuspecting tourists saw a head and shoulders poking out of the frozen ground beneath them; at first it was thought to be an unlucky traveler who had gotten stuck in a snowstorm, but with further investigation, scientists revealed that this man, given the nickname Ötzi, was over five thousand years old. A theory of his death is Ötzi was out hunting after eating a very large meal, and was killed for his power in his clan. To start off with, Ötzi’s caretaker Egarter had further examined Ötzi’s right hand, “He found a small cut running from the palm of the right hand, just below the index finger, over to the top side of the hand” (29). It had slight discoloration, which means that it had not been made after his death, for it had started to heal. This reveals that Ötzi had been confronted and attacked.
The guy wasn’t Heidi- he has a weapon, right?” (126) However, by giving insight on the man’s life, the reader learns that similarly to O’Brien, the man he killed originally had no intention of fighting. He wanted to be a scholar. The collections of short stories in “The Things They Carried” come together to show how complex war can be.
The origin of the Crow Indians, also called the Absaroka or Apsaalooke, started with the Hidatsa tribe. The Hidatsa, a Siouan tribe, lived in semipermanent villages on the upper Missouri River in what is now North Dakota. The Crow or “people of the large-beaked bird” were once part of the Hidatsa tribe, but split into to two divisions that separated from the Hidatsa at different times and for unrelated reasons. These two divisions of Crow are known as the Mountain Crow and the River Crow. ("Tribal History of the Hidatsa (Gros Ventre) Tribe As Told to Col. A. B. Welch | Welch Dakotah Papers”)
He knew because they had let the other messengers escape. They had broken into tumult instead of action. He discerned fright in that tumult. " This eventually leads to Okonkwo's suicide. Okonkwo was too proud to surrender to the white people.
Define and explain the notion of Katatjin (Knowledge), Boodjar (country) and Moort (family) and explain how the relationship between land, people and knowledge in the shared space of the South-west of Australia can be utilised. It is important to understand the Noongar trilogy of belief. The boodjar (land), is considered the mother and caregiver, moort is family and relations and katijin is knowledge and cosmological stories. Together these form a symbiotic relationship which is considered the "web of life" by Noongars (Collard 2007). In the south-west the term Noongar is the name given to aboriginal people who were the original inhabitants of the land (Collard et al. 2004).
One that seems to make sense is that he was assassinated by a clanmate who was jealous of his position. This is likely because of his copper axe, the arrowhead’s type and its location in his back and a large stone inside the cave which depicted the assassination. First, the Iceman’s axe was made of smelted copper which was advanced for his time, and signified that he was a man of power or position. Although a small detail, it would make sense that someone could have desired his status. In Ötzi’s time and culture, when people of authority were killed, their position would go to their killer.
Next, Okonkwo is warned that he will be told to kill Ikemefuna, a boy who has become like a son to him. When the time comes, Okonkwo, Ikemefuna, and a few other men set out on their journey. When the men move to kill Ikemefuna, Okonkwo trails behind them so he will not have to be a part of
The Tequesta Indians were a small, humble and calm tribe. First tribe in South Florida and made Biscayne Bay their home giving them an abundance of plants, ani-mals and materials for the production of tools and crafts materials. Their power and dominance made them second among the small tribes of Florida’s southeast coast. The Tequesta were hunters and gatherers. They gather nuts, berries and plants.
A blow to the head, a wound on the hand, and an arrow to the shoulder. These 3 key evidences show that Otzi the Iceman was assassinated. X-rays show that there is an arrowhead in his shoulder. This caused a blood clot that could have helped Otzi’s death. There was also damage to the head.
When Ikemefuna runs towards him, “Okonkwo drew his machete and cut him down. He was afraid of being thought weak” (Achebe 13). Okonkwo kills Ikemefuna because he is afraid someone will believe he is weak and similar to his unsuccessful father. He lets this fear of compassion and failing control his life and his decisions. When he is faced with a difficult choice he completes the action that will portray him as a man and not as an agbala, a woman.
The OG Archetype Hero Ever since the story of The Odyssey was written, people have deemed that Odysseus was not an archetype hero. At first, you may not think he was. Odysseus was considered arrogant, irresponsible and unfaithful. Have not a lot of people been like that though? Odysseus has been heroic in many circumstances.
King Tut’s death has always been a mystery and there has been a lot of theories about it. One theory about King Tut’s death is murder. It is believed that he was murder by Aye, and/or Horemheb. According to the text, it states, “ In fact, a piece of evidence was discovered in 1931 that makes it even more difficult to prove Aye’ innocence.
After the church is burned down Okonkwo is pleased that his fellow villagers are beginning to see the need for brutality against the foreigners through his eyes. “He had spoken violently to his clansmen when they had met in the marketplace to decide on their action. And they had listened to him with respect. It was like the good old days again, when a warrior was a warrior.” (192).
(Owen 3,4,15). Personifying the weapons demonstrates how pure soldiers have their innocence stolen from them through forced and blind usage of such deadly instruments. Accordingly, it is the weapons who truly receive the last laugh in the war as they kill both physically and spiritually, while soldiers are forever wounded in ways that can and cannot be seen.
