From contesting for this position to getting elected and working for betterment of my house group, I gained a lot of experience and self-confidence and became more responsible. Being a vice captain, I played an important role in addressing and motivating students, advising and helping them, and earning points for my group by participating in many competitions alone or in a team. I also served as the student voice of the school to a variety of external and internal constituents. The student council served as a bridge between the students and the school heads and administration. Similarly, I would like to serve as a resource to university administration.

The percentage of professors 34 years old or younger dropped by 50% from 1975 to 1984 (De Francesco & Rhoades, 1987). King (2008), stated that the age of professors 44 years old or younger in the colleges and universities are only 15 percent of the total professors in the four year institutions, and only 11% in the community colleges. Most of the faculty members nationwide is in their mid-fifties, within approximately 10 years of retirement. These two issues are connecting with each other because increasing the age of undergraduate students will lead to increase professors’ ages in the future because student today will be professors tomorrow. I think the solution for this issue is offering more help for the high school students to enroll in the universities after graduating.

A 4-H member may be a junior or teen leader for one or more projects during the year (“Club Programs”). Many colleges and universities have collegiate 4-H clubs. usually members are students who are 4-H alumni and want to continue a connection to 4-H but any interested students are welcomed. Clubs provide service and support to their local and state 4-H programs, such as serving as judges and conducting training workshops. They are also a service and social group for campus students.
