While the story, there are few elements that I found parallel which I had previously learned from last class. Self-talk is the repetitive example that had been brought in her story while becoming a wrestler. Toward the beginning of the novel, Whitsett explains are experience inside the sauna that changed her. During her time inside the, sauna almost every player had given up because of the atrocious heatwave yet she didn’t quit because she talked herself into enduring the pain.

Their success is mostly the result of a the sport psychologist, who is working with them to improve their mental state. Sport psychologists take a caring approach on personal and public matters. Studies have shown the various outcomes of using a sport psychologist, in many different sports. This is why there is usually a person behind the athlete in any sport, whether it is a sport psychologist and or a role model.

Personality is the relatively stable set of psychological characteristics that influence the way an individual interacts with his or her environment and how he or she feels, thinks, and behaves. By using the five-factor model of personality and personality characteristics in organizations, I will describe Joe Liemandt’s personality. To begin, with the five-factor model of personality: Joe displays an extrovert personality, high emotional stability, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and an outstanding openness to experience. Your mind controls how you feel and how you deal with things, do you ever wonder if you can seek help with that? Merriam Webster defines psychology as “ the study of mind and behavior in relation to a particular field of knowledge or activity” Sports psychologists main focal point in the line of work is to improve and help an individual to excel in sports. In most cases, athletes need motivation and help to overcome psychological issues, whether they are personal or limiting in their vocation.
The perfect athlete is made up of three components; talent, ability and motivation. But which is more important? The question that I am researching about is “Is your performance as a professional volleyball player affected more by genetics or by the way you were raised?” This is a very interesting and age-long debate between professional health nutritionists and scientists. Some, such as Mauro van de Looij, argue that nurture and personal characteristics, such as discipline and sacrifices, are more important in the making of professional athletes.
Eysenck’s strategy of looking for broad themes to categorize groups of traits was admired by other psychologists, but it was also recognized that his dimensions didn 't exhaust the full range of personality characteristics (McCrae & John, 1992). Personality is defined by thoughts, behaviours and feelings; a five factor model was created which underlines the personality types, they consist of openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism (Lundberg, 2013). Agreeableness, conscientiousness and neuroticism are the chosen personalities for this essay. Agreeableness is an individual’s behaviour whereby they contain characteristics such as being, generous, thoughtful, trusting, they are also very loving (Schmitt, Allik, McCrae & Benet-Martínez, 2007). Conscientiousness is where a person is hardworking, careful and they stick to the rules (Roberts, Lejuez, Krueger, Richards & Hill, 2014). Neuroticism is defined as an anxious personality, with a lot of emotional reactivity (Byrom & Murphy, 2013).
The Important people in your life can have a massive effect on your life and how you will live it. When I think of an important person in my life, my mind always wanders to my grandmother. She helps me and my family members whenever we need her. It could be a small favor like an extra couple dollars for lunch to a larger favor as in living with her for a couple years. My grandmother would also be my hero.

Personality theory is the approaches to understanding the “What”, “How” and “When” of characteristics and features that make up an individual 's personality. An insight into personality is important to understand the function of a person’s mind.
