Within Ways of Reading, by Anthony Petrosky, there is an excerpt called the "Loss of the Creature", by Walker Percy. In Percy 's excerpt he writes about many different stories and examples that are all about different things. He shows that everyone 's 'Value P ' is different because everyone sees things different. By saying this Percy is trying to say that we, the readers, should not set expectations on an experience that we will have. He also talks of planners and consumers and how one will worry about the planning of the experiences and the other will not worry and just experience what they experience.
In Pat Conroy’s book, “The Lords of Discipline”, the main character often expresses his attitude toward the Institution. In one paragraph, Will expresses a particularly negative attitude. Will’s attitude in the passage is disappointed and even a little bit rebellious. The reason why Will is disappointed is because the Institutes’s plebe system was “destroying the ability or the desire of the freshmen to use the word I.”
The aim of a philosopher 's theory is his plan. In chapter 1 of Introducing Philosophy, it discussed how God had a plan for all humans and how he gave them a set of guidelines to help them stay away from the evils of the world. In the essay “The Things with Feathers That Perches in the Soul “, Anthony Doerr asks “What lasts? Is there anything you’ve made in your life that will still be here 150 years from now? Is there anything on your shelves that will be tagged and numbered and kept in a warehouse like this?” (Doerr 97). The idea the author is trying to imply there are things in this world that will fade.
When I was a child, reading dragon stories were not my favorite, but when I read The Reluctant Dragon I see it enjoyable. In the Fifty-First Dragon story, the awkward knight uses this magic word to kill the dragons “Rumplesnitz”. The Reluctant Dragon showed the reader great and helpful relationships between the boy and the dragon. The Reluctant Dragon is prompt to a children 's instead of The Fifty-First Dragon which prompt to adults. The Reluctant Dragon and The Fifty-First Dragon have few similarities same as every story has a legacy; However, they have many differences like the characters are different, the ending of each story is unlike.

Due to the fact that Shadow possessed the ability to blend the past with the ever-changing future, he does not cut himself off from the rich foundation of his past and is able to change and grow as a person at the same time. Shadow’s ability to embrace honesty where the other gods choose lies, makes him ultimately more successful in the Novel. Using the Gods to show this blend of preservation and modernization, Gaiman effectively shows that this model is the best way to honour tradition while still adapting to a changing world. It could be said that this is the very
