What is Global Warming? Global warming is the increase of the Earth’s surface temperature, caused by the effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, which is emitted from burning fossil fuels, that does not allow the heat to escape from the Earth hence the raise in temperature. Global warming is a very important issue that is slowly getting ignored by everyone which is a sad fact therefore, it should not be accepted. Global warming is caused by several reasons done by human activity two of each are burning fossil fuels and deforestation (burning and removing plants). Burning fossil fuels is harming planet Earth, without the existence of this planet no human would have lived the life we are taking for granted.
Many scientist are now saying that people could possibly live on Mars, but of course there are always 2 sides to a story. My personal opinion on the topic is that we don 't need to move to Mars because life on Earth is just fine right now. I also believe it would not be a good idea because it would be too expensive, there are many health hazards, and we don 't have good enough technology yet. Firstly, I think that we should stay on Earth because it would be too expensive. According to source 6, this is a huge problem because it is not fair to the people who are still on Earth.First off if it was funded by the U.S. this would hurt our debt problem.
When we breathe in radon gas, the toxic particles actually stick to our lungs and have the ability to alter our cells. The EPA’s acceptable level of radon gas is hundreds of times higher than the acceptable levels of carcinogens in our food and beverages. The new law does not require mitigation be completed for homes with unsafe levels, but only that the home be tested before a sale. Consider how much time your family spends in the basement and lower levels of the house where radon exposure is highest. Do you or your loved ones sleep on a lower level of the house in a radon hotspot?
More than 6 million of those are deaths by the result of direct tobacco use while 890,000 are the result of non-smokers being exposed to secondhand smoke. Around 80% of the worlds 1.1 billion smokers live in low and middle-income countries. Starting with, the long-term effects of smoking and how it affects your body the most. “Most people think of cancer when they think of tobacco use. Tobacco does cause a wide variety of devastating cancers” (In the Know Zone, pg.1 par.
Imagine a world without bees. It might seem like it would be nice, a world without an annoying, stinging pesty insect. Because of industrial agriculture, we are on our way there now. The United States, and other countries, need to make a treaty to ban the use of neonicotinoid, a type of chemical used on plants, and insecticides because these chemicals are mentally and physically disabling bees; causing more and more bees to die; and without these bees, we won't have any food. Bees are an important, if not the MOST important part of creating food.
I agree by all means with the quote. It discusses how there are holes in the ozone layer and how we can’t fix the ozone layer. Science was used as a disadvantage to solve the ozone layer depletion because it was due to chemicals like CFC’s and Halons that were released in the ozone to interfere with the ozone layer ("Halon and the Ozone Layer”). “Ozone is a form of oxygen.” ("Depletion of the Ozone Layer.”). It is known by the formula: O_3.
But what multiplies the deadly potency of radioactive waste, is the amount of waste that exists in the world today. As of today, there are 449 active nuclear reactors in the world. The world produces around 2,000 tons of nuclear waste annually. The only good part about nuclear waste is that it naturally breaks down over time, through a process called radioactive decay. Like electronic waste, radioactive waste is extremely dangerous to anyone who comes in contact with it.
Although, in modern mining, miner death per year is approximately 30 (Respiratory Protection in Coal Mines, 2012), people still afraid of nuclear more than the other energy resources. Nuclear energy is the most controlled and regardful energy resource. People afraid of nuclear, people afraid of radiation. However, radiation exists everywhere on planet. Just forget about planet, radiation is closer to people than they thought.
Lenares, Recy Anne C. Mortillero, Clim M. BODY English 23 (11:00-12:30PM) May 12, 2015 The earth is suffering from many calamities, such as typhoons, earthquakes, floods, etc., made by the people without responsibly knowing how to prevent such. Recycling is one of the best ways to prevent this from happening. Mandatory recycling is meant for keeping the environment of a business clean and ultimately reduces the global warming. According to the City of Jeannette, Pennsylvania (2015), people know that recycling plays an important role in managing the garbage generated in homes and businesses, it reduces the need for landfills and incinerators. Recycling is an important strategy for reducing the environmental impacts of industrial production.
If the amount of batteries disposed by the entire world population during that year were to be computed, it would be an overwhelming amount of solid waste with detrimental effects to the environment and on humans as well. The current global battery disposal would be expected to be much worse because of population growth. Moreover, ordinary batteries – examples of which are lithium-ion batteries and alkaline batteries – pose a threat to humans and the environment because of their harmful components. Such components are lead and cadmium
“Air pollution from gas drilling in Arkansas’ Fayetteville Shale region imposed estimated public health costs of more than $10 million in 2008” (Jackson et al. 2014). Pollution caused by fracking can even impact people far away by contributing to the smog and soot emissions. Fracking is a greater contributor to ozone smog than automobiles in fracking popular areas (Allen). The act of injecting fracking fluid deep into the earth is a risky process.
Many people believe fracking is harmful to the environment because it pollutes the air and water and can possibly inject harmful chemicals in the earth. For many years scientists have studied the effects of hydraulic fracturing on water sources. With much controversy they say that hydraulic fracking is “subject to both federal
Some of the problem is Human responsibility and how it is ruining the earth and how the environment and nature will fall because of Global Warming. A lot of people have admitted to human responsibility for global warming. Some of the reason is fracking. Fracking is when the process of injecting liquid at high pressure to force open cracks in the ground to extract oil or gas. Fracking combines to produce 50% of CO2 into the earth 's atmosphere.
You see, the astronauts that are chosen to go, they won’t be coming back. They will have to stay and live the rest of their lives on Mars. So, if somebody there feels they need to return to Earth, that won’t necessarily be an option. Many people argue that this is unethical because of how extreme and difficult life on Mars will be. Since Mars is much further from the Sun, its temperatures tend to be much lower than Earth 's, with an average temperature of -81 degrees F. (mars.nasa.gov) Living on Mars could possibly be compared to living on Antarctica.
