Ozymandias is a poem written by Percy Bysshe Shelly also Ozymandias is an Egyptian King. Ozymandias’ real name is King Ramesses II; he is known as Ozymandias by the Greeks. Percy Bysshe Shelly hears about a finding of Ozymandias’ statue near his funeral temple and this basically motivates him to write this poem. The statue is completely demolished, leaving only a few pieces from the statue on the ground and there is no other form of life near it, everything around the statue is deserted. Percy Bysshe Shelly basically describes what is at and around the statue in the poem Ozymandias. Percy Bysshe Shelly is born on August fourth in 1792, near Horsham Sussex, England. Ozymandias builds various structures to show off his power and display his dream of being God. At the end, all of the structures end up perished and forgotten. Ozymandias statue is the only structure left standing and it sort of shows Ozymandias sad and alone. This is the exact story of Frankenstein but, instead of structures, he builds a human being. Frankenstein gets an idea of making a person come to life. He gathers up all the equipment he needs to complete this task and stays up long nights to finish his creation. Frankenstein wants a new species to bless him as its “creator and source” and he believes that he can make this breakthrough (M. Shelley 18). Having the creation recognize Frankenstein as a creator or source gives of a feeling that Frankenstein is going to exploit his power. Giving life to a thing that is already dead resembles Frankenstein as God. People believe that God gives us life and for Frankenstein to give life, shows that he is playing as a role of God or is trying to be God. Towards the end of the book, one by one Frankenstein’s creation kills his loved ones and Frankenstein is “left desolate” just like Ozymandias (M. Shelley 87).
