My Observation Summary
In the video from Pals Daycare, I observed three infants who were sitting on the floor and the teacher was sitting next to them. Each baby were holding wooden blocks or sticks, and the teacher was holding and empty jug and was trying to get the babies to put the blocks/sticks into the opening of the jug. Two of the babies did not seem to understand what to do with the blocks/sticks. They did not try to put them into the jug, but the third baby seemed to understand a little, and he did put it in the opening of the jug but did not understand to drop it into the jug.
Developmental Stages and Domains
Physical Development in a child is the biology changes a child goes through as they grow, it has impacts on their physical development and brain changes, it also includes their motor skills, their reflexes, how one learns, sensations and health issues. In the

The gross motor skills that they all three had was the ability to sit up on their own; they moved their arms, hands, and fingers too. Next is their social and emotional development which is the basic ability to control their emotions and behaviors, establish and keep positive relationships and the ability to solve problems. From what I saw from the video, it seem to me that the children showed feelings of trust, and feeling comfortable around the teacher. They responded to her in positive manner, and they showed happiness/pleasure in the social stimulation around them, the child had smiles on their faces like they recognized the teacher. Self-help are skills learned through a child’s daily living, for example, being able to feed themselves, go to the bathroom and dress themselves. In the video, all I noticed was that the babies could hold onto things by
In this stage the child can understand the conservation test they. In the video the little girl analyzes both glasses before she confirms that they have an equal amount of juice. Then when the juice is poured in a taller glass she understands that they still have the same amount because the glasses don’t determine if it has more or less in it or not. The little boy in the video understand tat if you hit a glass with a hammer that the glass will break because a hammer is hard. He also understands that if you hit a glass with a feather nothing will happen because a feather is soft.
According to developmental psychology a person at any age is at a certain stage of cognitive, moral, psychosocial, and physical development. This development is measured by different types of thinking, mental capacity for tasks, physical strength, and reasoning for following rules. Development is easily seen in children. Naturalistic observation is the one of the easiest method to see these developments in children. This is the observation technique I used, while watching a five year old male at Kindercare Daycare at 3:30 on a Friday.
1. Introduction In child care centre, there are a lot of elements in caring for the children and one of the most basic and important element is to ensure their safety and well-being. As a child care teacher, I am responsible to highlight on good practices and look into the physical environment and safety factors to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children. Hence, child care teachers have to be well-equipped with the skills and knowledge in areas of health, safety and nutrition.
I choose to view the video clip, Maggie Simpson in “The longest Daycare”. There are some entertaining pieces in the clip one being in the beginning when they test Maggie’s intelligence with the equipment manufactured by Often Wrong Technologies and going through the security check in the beginning. However, the video reveals how society often views people’s intelligence without often knowing how smart that person maybe. Maggie shows her intelligence when she encounters her first case of bullying.
There are four types of development, physical, cognitive, emotional, and social. Physical development is the growth of gross and fine motor, skills. Gross motor skills are walking, running, throwing, and crawling. Fine motor skills are writing, holding a fork, and using scissors. Physical development is also the easiest to see.
Advice on financing will be given by the founder’s brother at zero cost who is an auditor at Auditor General Office, Male’. In return for the support, Smiles childcare will offer him 20% discount for a period of one year, for his daughter to be enrolled at the Centre. Support includes facilitating the soft loan procedure, financial feasibility, registering for taxations.
Physical Development Watson (2012) defines physical development as the process that starts in human infancy and continues into late adolescent concentrating on fine and gross motor development. Fine motor development involves more finely tuned movements such as grasping, building bricks and gross motor development involves larger movements such as walking, climbing, climbing stairs and riding bicycles. In the movie “Yours, Mine and Ours”, when analysing Ethan Beardsley who is four years old, the youngest child of Frank Beardsley; a single father of eight children, Ethan’s fine motor development such as when he was using a chalk when he and Helen North’s youngest were scribbling on Frank’s “Operation Light House” board, he grasped the chalk with ease as the chalk was big. This proves he has acquired the fine motor skill of grasping.
During this stage, the child will develop from being
Her gait was smooth and effortless. She had good balance and ran with control. She was able to pick up large toys from the floor without falling over as well. These are all expected findings for gross motor skills as a four year old. For fine motor skills she colored, stacked blocks, and matched shapes.
In addition, at 3, 9, and 12 months of age, infant recognise the training object in a different context after all but the very longest test delays. Between 12 and 24 months of age, infants will also imitate an action that they saw in one context (e.g., the day-care center) when tested with the same object in a different context (e.g., laboratory) a few days later. Taken together, these findings reveal that infants can remember what they learn in one place if tested in another except after relatively long delays. Parents, educators, and public policy experts will be comforted to know that infants can transfer
In the world, there are many arguments around. But the biggest argument people are questioning is: are sports good for you or are they a bad chance for a concussion. Your choice, is the wrong choice. Sports are better than sitting around with nothing to do. But not just for one day, everyday!
This is the stage of object permanence. Toddlers learn how to grasp at objects. Piaget used his daughter and
My second observation observed for analysis is highlighting biochemistry of love and nurturing concepts studied with the day care environment. The situation I noted involved a small child, upon waking up from nap time, appeared very upset because he was missing his mother. Many tears shed because he realized his mother wasn’t there to comfort him, but he soon realized that he could find comfort in the workers present. If you separate a child from their parents, there is usually going to be tears or sadness of some kind, often referred to as separation anxiety. Children missing their parents is a common occurrence at this day-care.
The first year of a child’s life is spent communicating entirely through nonverbal means. Infants use every part of their bodies to convey their wants and needs as their parents and early childhood educators respond to meet them. Examples of this are reflexes, such as opening their mouths when hungry. Also, crying and whole body movements to demonstrate feelings. Another way that is interesting in infant nonverbal communication is allowing infants to play with each other.
DEVELOPMENT PSYCHOLOGY: REFLECTIVE ESSAY In life of an individual there are several developmental changes or events which occur as continuity of span of life. Some of life developmental stages include infantile, adolescence, maturity, and adulthood. These phases have biological, social, psychological and physiognomic reasons to which an individual completed the course of life. Psychological analysis upon the developmental stages include the focus on characterization, demarcation and the social interaction of individual’s life (Baltes & Schaie, 2013).
