What Is A Partial Hospitalization Program?

A partial hospitalization program is one of the treatment options that people have for substance abuse. Partial hospitalization is a type of outpatient treatment. A person who is completing a partial hospitalization program will spend several hours at a treatment center every week, but he or she will be allowed to reside at home.

Outpatient rehab is the ideal choice for people who have a problem with substance abuse, but the problem is not severe enough to warrant 24-hour hospitalization. Every person with an addiction has unique needs. That is why it does not make sense to put everyone who is battling substance abuse in the same type of program.
