In reviewing the case, I believe the organizational functions that were affected by the crisis were the leaders within the administration. They were the most powerful people at the University that knew what Sandusky was doing but fail to report Sandusky’s actions. It seemed like the men were hoping that it would just go away on its own. I also think that all the men that were aware were thinking more of the reputation of the University, and how the scandal affected the University’s name as well as the history of the school. I think Paterno was more focus on having a successful football team and did not want to deal with Sandusky.By not speaking up about the scandal; it cost the University millions of dollars in fines, which went towards an
My personal opinion on whether or not Joe Paterno should have been fired, have everything taken away from him, including all of his wins and the statute in front of the stadium taken down. Despite the fact, I do not think that Joe should have been fired at all. He did what he was supposed to do, and reported the incident to the next higher upper. Although, could he had done more, of course he could have. Paterno even stated in the film when talking to the bibliographer “I wished I had done more”.

This test case of Bernie Banton and his case against James Hardie impacted not only individuals concerned about the issue but bigger groups such as the government and businesses. Those who have suffered from asbestos related illnesses and their family are encouraging for a new legislation to be passed, as it would allow plaintiffs to claim for damages within 12 months. The 12 month period is necessary as many people find out they have been a victim of asbestos related disease once they have passed away. The changes in the law have been successful in Victoria, Western and South Australia. Bernie Banton test case was a turning point for those who have been suffering from asbestos related disease so they too can launch their cases against companies responsible such as Amaca Pty Ltd. Banton case later became a test case for
Those decisions harmed the University and more importantly changed the lives of several young boys forever. Jerry Sandusky is in prison now, and head coach Joe Paterno died a few months after he was fired from his coaching position. The football program
Michael Vick was one of the most exciting football players in the National Football League since his inception into the league in 2001. Penn State football is a major brand with a very large fan base. Many areas of the school benefit from the large amount of revenue generated by the success of the football program. One of the major factors in the Penn State scandal was blind loyalty to one individual with total disregard for the children and the lives he was destroying. Many believe the four individuals that had the control to step in and stop this from happening either did not do so for fear of destroying the program or the hopes that it would somehow stop on its own (Crandall 2013). Jerry Sandusky was a top assistant and defensive mastermind for thirty years with Joe Paterno as the head coach.
Are they the ones to blame? Around $100 million dollars
There are many influential items that were brought up during the trial that the judge used to impose his sentence. After a jury found him guilty of over 45 separate charges the sentencing process began, the judge made a statement regarding Jerry Sandusky's status in the community and the fact that he was able to become a predator without anyone knowing and was able to keep it covered up for so long (Bohm & Haley, 2014). The judge continued by also making sure that Sandusky knew the sentencing was being based on the facts brought up in court and that they are true beyond a reasonable doubt (Daily News, 2012). He also must consider the fact the way Sandusky not only committed these crimes but the way it occurred, such as how he abused the trust of the victims who at first had trusted him. These crimes that were committed were not committed against strangers and the judge makes a comment that just that fact makes this a whole lot worse than if it were actually being committed against a stranger (Daily News, 2012).
The Penn State scandal involved more than just the individual committing the crimes. Many of the university’s officials were at fault for not reporting the alleged crimes to the Board of Trustees or Pennsylvania police. This type of behavior shows how the culture was a clan style and more of a family characteristics of protecting their own (Brumfield, 2012). Jerry Sandusky, a former assistant football coach, was with the university for almost forty years and was admired as an upstanding citizen. He was the organizer of a charity call The Second Mile, which assisted disadvantage youth.
All of these men were highly respected officials prior to the scandal. They also wrote that the football program received severe sanctions which had a negative impact on the marketing of the University. In other words, the image of Penn State had been severely damaged.

The Watergate Scandal involved robbery, presidential corruption, verbal harassment as-well as assaults on a senator’s wife, and a long list of other unlawful acts. What is amazing about this scandal, is that it shows that crime happens on all levels of society, and that even the leader of the free world should be held accountable for his actions. After all
He plans to fight and overturn the verdicts. I do not think there is enough evidence to be able to overturn the verdicts. The evidence that was presented was the eight boy’s statements that were testified. One thing that would hold is the cover up that his piers were convicted of dealing with his crime and the juveniles testimonies if they all were similar to Sandusky’s ways to which the jury will be convinced. However the leads that the authorities have that show how many
Colleges are protecting their public record and do not wish to affect their brand be publicly admitting the high rates of sexual assaults. The documentary focused on a student attending Harvard Law School and the administrators insisted that the female victim should remain silent and avoid spreading the incident around. They asked questions such as, "Did you give him the wrong message, why did you choose not to fight back". Victim blaming is presented when the administrators are more interested in what the victim did wrong rather than what the offender's actions
Elven billion dollars! The non-profit organization known as the NCAA makes around elven billion each year form the hard work of college athletes in the U.S and not a dime goes to them. It’s a horrible but true fact that had struck me I found out. The NCAA is a non-profit organization that was founded by President Roosevelt in 1905 with the idea of not paying student-athletes that took part in its events. However, as time passed the organization become larger and started to take advantages of social media and other forms of sending information which made it become very popular.
