In this new modernized era, things seem to change rapidly in front of our very eyes. We are always looking for something better whether it is gadgets, fashion among other things. The fast pace that we need to keep track of have caused a massive impact on people especially in youth. Youth feels the desire to compete with each other to be better. Healthy rivalry among the youth is good for their mental health. But, they tend to lose a highly praised virtue which is patience. There are a lot of verses in the Quran that mentions patience. Allah SWT had given us the most perfect example to follow which is the Prophet. And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength departs, and be patient. Surely, Allah is with the patients (al-Anfal:46) This verse …show more content…
Allah has indeed been gracious to us. He who has Taqwa, and is patient, then surely, Allah makes not the reward of the gooddoers to be lost.." (Yusuf : 90) Patience or also known as Sabr is one of the greatest quality of our Prophet Muhammad SAW. From historical evidence we can see just how the Prophet practiced patience in his daily life. In many occasions we can see that even through tough times, the Prophet had been nothing but patient with the challenges he faced. Narrated Abu Said Al Khudri: Some Ansari persons asked for (something) from Allah’s Apostle and he gave them. They again asked him for (something) and he again gave them. And then they asked him and he gave them again till all that was with him finished. And then he said “If I had anything, I would not keep it away from you. (Remember,) whoever abstains from asking others, Allah will make him contented, and whoever tries to make himself self-sufficient, Allah will make him self-sufficient. And whoever remains patient, Allah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than
Teens can greatly relate to this because school is a place where they are all expected to be in the same boat, with all the same grades, and the all the same things we
Competitive sports are on the hotline lately because people are questioning whether it is good or bad for kids to play competitive sports. Some people argue that sports are a team tradition and only the best players should play so that they can make it farther in the finals. Making the team is a honor because it shows that you have the devotion, time and skills to play. Others argue, however, that sports put too much pressure on kids, and that the pressure is being placed on them by coaches and parents. Pressure doubles by starting out at such a young age, and not wanting to drop out because their parents all ready dug deep into their pockets to pay for the season.
For instance, one patient profoundly believed that if his cultural herb had been placed in boil water by his girlfriend during the surgery and his religious knot tie on his big toe after the surgery, he would not experience pain. While the other patient continuously denies the need for pain pills as well as any feelings of pain or discomfort even when his non-verbal cues suggest otherwise. And the third with the same invasive procedure, constantly yelling and screaming for his pain pills. What made this situation a challenge is that their spiritual values was a challenge for me because each patient had different cultural practices and beliefs that th • What is your desired outcome should you face this situation or one like it in the future? Should I face this situation or one like it in the future, my desired outcome is effective pain management and while respecting my patients spiritual values and beliefs, as well as their perception of pain..
Concentrating on winning or losing spoils the fun that games hold. In addition, equal chances should be provided to every child to participate. Competitive nature can assist the children in their life later on, but the focus should be on better mental and physical health. (204 words) Response In “Children Need to Play, Not Compete,” the author has described sports as one of the ways that enhance mental and physical heath.
Zora Neale Hurston once said, “There’s a year where you ask questions, and there’s a year when you get answers,” (Hemingway 45). “ Anyone depending on someone else’s gods is depending on a fox not to eat chickens” ( Hemingway 68). These quote shows that people need to to be patient and trust God. God will always answer questions when it is the right time.
Competition in Schools In A Separate Peace, the author says that not many relationships are not based on competition. Competition makes up many relationships in workplaces, schools, and even in homes. These competitions control the people involved, teaching them to always win. In places like a school, competition can either really help somebody or it can damage someone.
The ethical principle of autonomy provides for respect for the patient’s autonomy to make decisions and choices concerning their life and death. Respecting the patient’s autonomy goes against the principles of beneficence and non-maleficence. There also exists the issue of religious beliefs the patient, family, or the caretaker holds, with which the caretaker has to grapple. The caretaker thus faces issues of fidelity to patient welfare by not abandoning the patient or their family, compassionate provision of pain relief methods, and the moral precept to neither hasten death nor prolong life.
While some parents believe that the competition can harm kids, I believe that sports can greatly help kids. Making them experience healthy competition and become more well rounded contributing members of society. The first reason that I believe supports my claim is that kids gain a sense of healthy competition that can prepare them for life. This can be seen in the article “Pros and Cons of Sports Competition at the High School Level” where Grace Chen, an education researcher, writer, and educator, states that sports and competition, “...help teens develop an array of personal skills, including resilience, attitude control, time management, and long term thinking abilities” (Chen 6).
For example, a competitive environment teaches kids how to handle pressure and criticism (Mango 3). Most sports have situations that put athletes in tight spots. Even though they push them out of their comfort zone, it teaches them how to keep cool and figure it out. Some may say that too much pressure for youths can leave a negative impact on them. On the other hand, by learning how to cope with the tension and criticism from supportive coaches and teammates, kids can persevere through these problems and grow stronger mentally.

In this day and age with professional athletes being at the top of the social spectrum, youth sports have gotten very popular. “More than 26 million children ages 6 to 17 played team sports in 2014(Rosenwald).” Youth sports are very popular because it brings the great feeling of being on a team. When you are on a team you feel like you can do anything together, and nothing is stopping you. There are also many flaws in youth sports.

If I could say one thing to the youth, it would be this: Never Give Up. Keep trying and pushing and struggling, even if you don’t know what your goal is or why you would want to achieve it. Make a point to succeed when a person says you are not capable of doing so because when you succeed you are proving not only to them that you can but to yourself. Respect the person who is doubting you because that will let them know that you are not effected by what they are saying. People will recognize you as someone who won’t give up, and they will get out of your way.
