The article “Baby Talk” by Patricia Kuhl explains how infants can start speaking their first language within a short time period. Babies possess the special ability to master a language within a few years, something that teenagers and adults have difficulty with. Only recently have scientists such as Patricia Kuhl start to understand how a newborn brain processes and learns speech.
Infants use two methods to master a language, mental evaluation and social interaction with their parents.
