On Thursday at around 5:30 to 6:00 pm Patrick Maloney, a police officer, was found dead in his own house. His wife found him dead after returning home.

Police officer Patrick Maloney was killed in his own house. His wife, Mary Maloney, found him dead. Sargent Noonan investigated and said that he was killed by a hit in the back of the head with a heavy, blunt object. They think that the murderer used a large piece of metal. If so the police believe that the killer has taken the weapon with them, thrown it away, or hidden it somewhere on the premises. “His skull was smashed all to pieces just like from a sledgehammer,” said the doctor. Police are unsure of the murderer's motive.
