I realize that probably sounds confusing, but what I mean is that there is so much truth behind the joke that if there were no comedic techniques it would very well become a hurtful message. There are themes in the joke such as, physical and domestic abuse, that aren’t really taken lightly. It is the techniques being used, like the hyperbole at the end and the absurdity of the violent suggestion that allow for the person hearing the joke to laugh. The situational irony and verbal irony also assist with the level of humor. The first joke about the female crying at the sound of her name is funny, but there aren’t as many factors working for it.
Where this mixture shines the most is how it builds off itself. Due to the story presenting itself as always moving forward, When an important fact is revealed to the audience, an excitement or anxiety is built for when other characters also learn this fact. How those characters react to that and the facts themselves are the main and often only ways the audience ever learns about the multitude of characters. An example would be when Dee tells the story of when he shot one of Avon’s girlfriend’s because she was threatening to go to the police because of his other girls. This relates to the investigation earlier in the episode of that homicide, containing the famous “fuck” scene where McNulty and Bunk communicate only in the word “fuck” while investigating the scene.
The first scene comprises a constant use of movement this coupled with editing and sound, these scenes are linked dextrously and lead to producing an enthralling and suspenseful ending. The use of continuous moving camera shots, editing and sound are all used to build a sense of uncertainty and psychological distress throughout the movie. In the line-up scene, this is especially true. The police station line-up scene is, however, quite unusual for this genre of film. It does not adhere with the conventions of film noir nor with the elements of a crime or thriller film.
The movement within the poster then leads the viewer to next recognize all of the smaller writing below the palm that declares, "The secret lies within." This simple quote later becomes the main theme of the movie itself in following advertisements. Even the quote itself leads a viewer to question and want answers to settle their curiosity. This is exactly what designers want as it will lead to higher attendance of the movie when released. Another very well-designed portion of this movie poster is its use of negative space.
Many critics have called it brilliant, and Lindsay Anderson even called it Hitchcock’s best Hollywood film. It is noted for being uniquely Hitchcockian. The notion that something dark lies beneath the surface is a plot device employed in many Hitchcock films, and Shadow of a Doubt refines these themes down to its essential components. Hitchcock loves plots of the wrong man accused, but this film left no doubt that Uncle Charlie was guilty. Some have criticized the movie for occasionally being implausible or unrealistic at times, but the director’s unique style of immersion and camera work is enough to have these somewhat stretched areas of the plot
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War is probably one of Marvel’s most popular movies – for the simple reason that they have made it appeal to nearly everyone. Civil War is not just another one of those superhero movies where the heroes fight each other because the writers have run out of villains. Civil War is both a toast to past politics, and a response to the political anxieties of today. To be considered Political Cinema, Civil War needs to satisfy three basic categories: it needs to comment on political events, systems, or theories; have accurate illustrations of political atmospheres; and make people question their view of politics to warn them about certain policies. Civil War is a great political film because it not only satisfies

The central character of a comedy is usually an ordinary character that faces conflicts that arise from misunderstandings or mistaken identities but overcomes them, and the play ends with a happy resolution.” (TutorVision) and tragedy is “a drama that ends in the downfall of its main character… The hero’s downfall is meant to inspire audiences to examine their own lives, to define their beliefs, and to cleanse their emotions of pity and terror through compassion for the character.” (TutorVista). The difference in the two genres is very evident, mainly because in a comedy the protagonists end with a happy ending, but in a tragedy the opposite. The first characteristic we can see that helps us identify The Merchant of Venice is that at the end, all the protagonists overcome
This creates an emphasis on Romeo’s utter affixation with love. Mercutio’s playfulness and ability to make a serious subject humorous and reasonable bring out the deep, dark, and depressing side of Romeo, who is completely the opposite when it comes to love. Romeo does not see love as a joke and we see him fall into a depression, Mercutio only makes this sadness more apparent as he talks so jokingly of love. Shakespeare uses Mercutio to lighten Romeo’s depression and make it more
Also is a story that illustrates ways of think from ordinary people, always has a happy end where protagonist achieves his goal at the end. A successful comedy, as “The Taming of the Shrew”, not only has the ability to make people laugh, but can also make them understand serious social or individual problems. Basically, a tragedy is a fiction with a bitter and melancholic ending. A tragedy always deals with an outstanding person who is forced to collapse through his own vulnerability. In a tragedy, the protagonist’s (who is noble and powerful) life goes from good to bad.
