Depending on the design, size and quantity of the stores to be manufactured, process for bulk production is selected. Most commonly used manufacturing processes include injection, blow, extrusion and compression moulding however a particular product may need a specific set of processes in order to achieve product in a cost effective and time bound manner. As an example, process for production of water bottles as per army requirement of quality and quantity, is described here.
The PC water bottle can be produced either by Extrusion blow moulding or by Injection Stretch Blow Moulding process. Both processes have its own advantage and limitations but Injection Stretch Blow Moulding process is recommended for manufacturing of these bottles because end product has excellent visual and dimensional quality especially of threads and neck portion, no pinch-off scrap, excellent thickness control and surface defects are very less.
5.3.1. Injection Stretch Blow Moulding Process
As the name suggests, Injection Stretch Blow Moulding is a combination of the two familiar process injection moulding and blow moulding. These processes can be carried out on a Single Stage Machine or a Double Stage Machine [51].

Material Preparation: Material preparation and drying parameters have a particularly important influence on the quality of the finished product as well as lowering the rejection rates. Moisture can cause hydrostatic degradation of polymer during processing and shows up as streaks or small bubbles on the surface. The PC should have a residual moisture content no more than 0.02 %. It is dried at approximately 120°C for about 3 to 4 hours for high speed dryers and 2-3 Hours for dry air dryers before molding to ensure optimum processing, appearance and mechanical properties. Lower temperatures do not ensure sufficient level of drying and at higher temperature; there is risk of granules sticking together and being non suitable for

Manufacturing – within a business the manufacturing department works alongside several other departments such as marketing and purchasing to make sure that they manufacture products efficiently. Manufacturing is generally a long process as detailed designs of products have to be assembled before construction can begin. Manufacturing varies can depend on the organisation type large companies are likely to manufacture products themselves, and they tend to do this on a large scale in order to be able to buy resources in bulk in order to save a substantial amount of money. Small businesses tend to design their own products but may not have the ability to manufacture; therefore they usually hire other companies to manufacture for them - this can be quite costly, so they commonly perform manufacturing on a large scale
Need To Repair Your Asphalt Driveway? How Resurfacing And Sealcoating Differ If your asphalt driveway is faded and showing its age, you may be wondering what you can do to bring it back to life. Depending on the degree of wear and tear, you can have a sealcoat applied or have the asphalt resurfaced.
This year marked the eighth time that our wonderful and eccentric history teacher, Mr. Toby Harms, has journeyed across the country in search of greater knowledge. The program that has allowed him to travel to places such as Wyoming, New York, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Washington, and now Ohio, is called the National Endowment for the Humanities or NEH. This program accepts thousands of applicants for one workshop, but only 40-60 candidates are chosen. This year 's workshop sent Mr. Harms to the Hopewell National Historical Park in Ohio to study the Ohio Mound Builders. He chose this particular workshop because they discussed the similarities and differences between the Ohio Mounds and Cahokia Mounds, which he covers in several of his classes.
The article “Buying Bottled Water For Your Health, Stop It,” by Katie Herzong discusses the harm of buying bottled water. As mentioned in the article buying bottled water is estimated to be 2,000 times more expensive than using tap water. Not only is buying bottled water more expensive, but also bottled water produces fossil fuels within the environment that will be put into a landfill where it will not decompose. To better understand the damage Doctor Sanaz Majd examined the risks of bottle water compared to tap water. Her interest originally sparked when her twins were born premature, and the doctor informed her that she should avoid mixing formula with bottle water.

The first person to put water in a bottle and sell it must have been a genius. How else can someone take something that is free and turn it into a multi billion dollar business? In the US a lot of people buy bottled water because they think it is better and safer for them. There is no evidence it is better for you and, indeed, it may be less safe than tap water. According to the Center for Disease control (2012)
Do you think Alice Thornton’s proposal to decentralize the rules and procedures of Cosmo Plastics will work? Alice proposal of decentralizing the rules and procedures in Cosmo Plastics has a bigger chance of working out in a big company with different departments and great number of employees, because then daily operations and decision-making are divided into different authorities in the organization from the top managements, to the middle and lower level managements. Especially when you have this flexibility in work hours, because some departments in the company need constant attention and discipline from the side of employees, decentralizing is needed to divide the controlling process. On another scale, small groups will be formed, employees
Finding alternatives may be difficult because PVC has a lot of greater features such as being cost efficient, durable, scratch resistant, and formable. The alternative of thermoplastic urethane (TPU) is twice the price, which will increase cost significantly for the company. Herman Miller as a company must not only work to incorporate their new C2C design protocol but simultaneously keep good relationships with suppliers and keep cost
Process Strategies The process strategies, for such a large manufacturing company, would need to be varied. The production process type would be determined by the product life cycle stage at that time (Thayer 2004).Product life cycles for items such as smartphones and tablets do not generally follow the standard life cycle stages. The maturity stage can be interrupted by discontinuation or irrelevance of a technology, which recommences the cycle (Giachetti & Marchi 2010). Incidentally, during the product life cycle of these items, a cyclic improvement of both process and product is required to stay in contact with market changes.
Coordinate with customer relationship management to identify customer articulated needs 2. Select materials and suppliers in conjunction with procurement 3. Develop production technology in manufacturing flow to manufacture and integrate in to the best supply chain flow for the product/market combination G. Manufacturing Flow Management The manufacturing process produces and supplies products to the distribution channels based on past forecasts. The production process has to be flexible to respond to market changes and Mass Customization must absorb.
