Harmony within diversity must be nurtured and cherished. This is a really interesting topic. The question here is do you know what is the meaning of the word nurtured and cherished? Nurtured means to take care and encourage the growth or development. Meanwhile, cherished means that we need to keep and maintain the peace that we have achieved. Malaysia is a country comprising various ethnics. Among which are Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazan-Dusun, Iban and others who live under the same sky. With the presence of various ethnics, harmony within these ethnics is very crucial. This is because peace and harmony is a great treasure. This problem should not happen because everyone knows that the Malay language is the national language, so, everyone needs to learn the Malay language. Malay students in Malay schools will definitely use Malay language, Indian students and Chinese students will use their mother-tongue language when speaking to their friends and teachers. The school must ensure that students speak Malay language although in Chinese schools or Indian schools. If the language problem still occurs, it will lead to inter-ethnics relations in Malaysia becoming increasingly tenuous and far apart. From my point of view, we might have solution for this problem. Besides, every problem has a solution, right? Parents play a vital role in shaping their children to respect other religions and nations. Children are like white cloth, it is up to parents to fill in the blank. To make all of this happen, parents should be good role models. This is because children can see and imitate their parents’ behavior. Parents should teach children to respect other nations and religions. Tell them what will happen if they do not respect it. Parents need to instill self-hate violence in …show more content…
He will invite all Malaysians regardless of age, level, religion and ethnic. He is an example that we can follow and make as a model. Open houses can strengthen our bond regardless of race. We can talk and chat with each other warmly. We as Malaysians can also hold open house. We can invite our friends and neighbours and talk to each others happily. For me, the government can realize ‘Sekolah Wawasan’ that consists various ethnics that we have in Malaysia. The school’s goal is to ensure that students of different races mingle and use national language. Students who are Malays, Chinese, Indians and other ethnics are in one school and learn together in Malay. At the same time, they can also learn other language. For example, Malays can learn Chinese or Iban language. Similarly, the Chinese can learn Indian

Introduction: In the text by Eboo Patel “Acts of Faith: The Story of an American Muslim, the Struggle for the Soul of a Generation,” Patel focuses on living in a diverse faction full of religious prejudice in a world full of materialistic outlooks. At the same time he intertwines his personal experiences and provides a remarkable account in which he says that growing up in America as a Muslim led him to discover the importance of cultural pluralism, the acceptance of all religions, and his huge account that all Muslims aren’t extremists. He believes in ethnocentrism; religions should be able to coexist without feeling that one religion is superior than the other. In a world where the forces that seek to divide us are strong, Patel thinks the meaning of pluralism is that the differences
Samira Ahmed’s realistic fiction novel, Love, Hate, and Other Filters, takes place in modern-day Chicago where a suicide bombing has engrossed the attention of America. Maya Aziz, a Muslim teenager, is targeted for her heritage while attempting to lead a life free of high school drama, controlling parents, and difficult relationships. As Maya copes with Islamophobia, prejudice against Muslims, she begins to understand the horrors and shortcomings of violence. One lesson the story suggests is that hatred is an infectious and blinding motive. From the very beginning of the story, readers are familiarized with the source of terrorism through thorough description and sentence structure.
If we can teach them as young adults what is wrong and what is right it can prevent a great deal of violent
I love a good challenge. Sometimes it’s not about the obstacles you face,
I am always looking for a challenge and expect to excel each time. I have distinguished myself from my peers by taking on extra responsibilities
Parenting is often judged yet rarely understood. One could be the ultimate parent AND the ultimate failure, all at the same time. The guilt of corrupting someone who is your responsibility deteriorates a parent over time. It is universally accepted that as we grow older we become a mirror image of our parents. Their values become our own, just as their parents’ became theirs.
Parents play a major role in a child’s life. Parents affect how their child behaves and who they become as they grow older. The ideal parent should be an attentive listener, have a positive attitude and love their child unconditionally. Firstly, I think that parents should always listen to their kids no matter what or else they will feel neglected.
The children learned basic norms and values from the parents. The parents supply the economic needs for the child such as foods and education (ResviseSociology, 2014). In a family, different person performs different role and function such as a mother should take care of her child. The important is the child can feel the love and support from their parents (Gordon, 1997). Family dysfunction may appear in broken families, violent families and divorced families, etc.
In a usual family, there are set roles. A father, mother, and children. Stereotypically, each role is supposed to have a set job- the father is in charge of the family, making the rules, the mother cooks and helps the children, and the children play. This stereotype is slowly changing throughout the years, and some could argue that it is different for their family. One thing that should be true in all families, is that the parents are good role models for their children, leading them in the right direction in life.
There is no male role model to show a son how to treat a woman or be a father. There is no male role model to show a daughter how she should be treated by a man. Because of the abscense, the children are left to learn by trial and error. The author wants us to understand this is a bigger problem than we all think.
These challenges help to enhance individual’s potential and their abilities that is tailored to the requirements of their present jobs and could also help to prepare them for future jobs as
However, the same cannot be said for the past few decades. This is because of selfish politicians playing the controversial “race card” to gain support from a particular race. These selfish actions have worsened the relationships between races and affected the harmony that was once our nation’s pride and joy. Thus, it is our role as Malaysians to find new ways of promoting racial harmony, because honestly, who would want to live in a country where everyone hates each other?
For example, Arabic language is a foreign language for the Malaysian. Even though it is quite tough for the beginners to master the foreign language, it is really
