I bring to campus a friendly attitude, along with hard work, dedication and the persistence I put into everything I do. I will not only strive to contribute to the UST community, but also other communities across the world in order to create a positive change.
I have been part of the marching band at KGC for four years. Through this activity, I have shown my determination and dedication to the program, of which I am proud to be apart of. It has encouraged me to follow my love of music to become a better saxophone player in college. I have declared to myself to put forth 110% effort into everything I set my mind to, overcoming obstacles as they come and keep moving through life with a smile on my face.

My family motivates and encourages me, each day, to strive to be a better person and achieve whatever goals I set for myself, thus increasing my desire to attend UST and stay close to my support network. I am determined to major in either chemistry or biology, which will lead me into the path of becoming a Pediatrician. My motivation for this career choice in medicine comes from wanting to help young children who are ill. From a very young age, I have always wanted to help children, but most recently a case, which hits close to home, has motivated me to pursue a career in medicine. My young cousin from Midland, Texas who was born a few months ago and was diagnosed with Supracardiac TAPVR. Supracardiac TAPVR is a rare birth defect where the pulmonary veins come together and form an abnormal connection above the heart to the superior vena cava, the main heart vessel. The doctors were required to perform heart surgery soon after his birth. Due to the lack of medical facilities able to take care of him at such a young age in Midland, they transferred him to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.. He was too young to be in this world with such a terrible illness, considering he was born only sixteen days
The factors that influenced me to become a paraeducator are my passion to work with children and the desire to make a positive difference in their lives. I want to help children succeed and reach their full potential both socially and academically. When my twin boys (who are now 21) were in elementary school, I spent many hours volunteering weekly in both of their classrooms. I helped the teacher by preparing learning materials and I worked in small groups or with individuals with reading and math. I loved the time I spent in the schools with the children and loved the school environment.
Personal Statement Last summer I had the opportunity of participating in the U54 Sumer Research Program and it was an incredible experience, because it helped me in my professional development and discerns my future carrier goals. I want to return to MD Anderson Cancer Center, because it counts with a variety of physician scientists and physicians that integrate their clinical work with innovating research and this will improve my development as a future physician and researcher. Being able to do research in my area of interest and having the experience of a clinical rotation in pediatric oncology help me diced that I want to become an MD. My actual professional goal is to be a pediatric physician specialized in oncology, orthopedic surgery
I’m currently a student at San Joaquin Valley College, working towards becoming a certified medical assistant in which I have proficiency in typing skills and accomplished CPR and HIPAA certification. My passion is the medical field where I can assist the needs and services of others while being able to connect and create a comfortable environment for patients. On an interpersonal level, I excel as a conversationalist to personalize each interaction I encounter. With previous volunteer work for organizations, I’ve come to realize I strive in wanting to make a positive difference in people’s lives and hope to one day be able to do it on a daily basis. Making a difference in people’s lives at times can take the littlest effort and in doing so
My dream is to become a pediatric oncologist at St. Jude Children’s Hospital, so this program is a big opportunity for me that will help prepare me for my future
I am applying to the Health Science Pathway, or Medical Academy, in the hope that I can find which medical path is right for me. I have always been interested in a career that betters the lives of others because I am moved by those who do that line of work. My parents, however, are the ones I really take inspiration from, due to their loving hearts and desire for me to thrive. I care about nutrition and I enjoy reading and learning how to cure the human body’s various maladies. And now, my number one goal is to become a Medical Dermatologist and purify the skin of many.
“Drum-major, is your band ready?” the judge asks me before beginning our show at state championships. I begin to look around me, staring into a sea of excited faces, whose expressions look very eager to watch our best show yet. This is the moment that I’ve been dreaming of since freshman year, knowing that I’m the person who cues the first note that defines the rest of the show. I give my salute from the podium as a reply to the question, knowing that I have the best view of our accomplishments.
A cube seen from only one side is a square. I have spent twelve years of my life in the same institution and had a small but well-loved group of friends. In contrast, a close friend of mine attended three different schools in the same time, and I saw how that affected him, he was more social, friendly and empathetic. Looking back I now realize that I need to learn how to be more outgoing to better my communication skills as life presents us new challenges and working well with others is an integral part to solving them. I came to the United States to both see the world from another perspective and reflect upon the different ideologies and thought processes that have developed in the presence of such a great number of differing cultures.
In the September of 2009 I made the decision to join the Anacortes Band program. I stayed with program all through middle school and high school, and in the end of my Sophomore year I was voted to be the leader of the Flute section. I was one of the youngest leaders my band director has ever seen. Being section leader, I had to lead sectionals, welcome and teach new members the ways of our band, and to help younger players in class when they were struggling. I may not have been the most experienced musician and I certainly was not the oldest, however through my natural talent as a leader I was able to grow my section to one of the closest groups in the band.
I do all that I can to tell my family members that I love and miss each of them immensely. Also, when I picture my future family, I know that I will strive
I want to be a physician because I want people to grow old. At the age of 6, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with leukemia. By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. We see the process of aging and choose not to embrace it.
To really think about what education is, it is practically anything we see it to be. It may be formal or home schooling , or learning about learning about the way gangs are run from your uncles. Education is all these things. Growing up I always thought that education was only Math, English, Science, and History. I have learned a lot from my regular K-12 schooling system, but the education I hold close to my heart and will forever cerish are the experiences I learn in life.
