Half a century of History of Peking University’s Post Office

Peking University, April 7th ,2017: Since the last half centuries , the post office had played a crucial role in most of the Peking University’s students lives. In the olden days , when there was no wechat or any mobile devices ,post office was a significant medium that helped students to maintain their relationship and keep in touch with the outside world. Letters perhaps was the only way the students could communicate with their friends, families and relatives who were living far away in their hometown. “We used to engage in long distance relationship. I could still remembered vividly that ,during those days, the most important things that happened in my daily lives was to wonder when would I receive my mails or letters from her , my current wife. The first thing I would do after receiving the letter was to read repeatedly, all over again and again….”said by the School of Law’s Master Graduate 1984 Liu Kai Xiang .

To Liu Kai Xiang, post office not only was his “ Love Interchange Station”,but was also the place where he gathered with his fellow provincial mates.
