The process of ongoing learning can support health organization including AUBMC in order to promote the acquisition and implement perfect knowledge as a basic foremost strategy in order to manage the changes required for AUBMC and will support the organization in identifying major critical requirements to empower workforces to achieve and participate in continuous healthcare improvement. To implement culture of accountability, Sayegh will have to tackle knowledge and learning, this will ultimately result in development of a culture that supports continuous improvement and learning. The culture of accountability in order to work successfully will require committed leadership; the culture will result in performance feedback to motivate employees, as Sayegh faced with unmotivated staff. (Frost et al.
I find the uptake of evidence-based practice is one of the fields that has profoundly affected the paradigm shift and is woven into each of the nursing fields, and since wide researches have been conducted so far, it imperative to note that the available material will equip and provide needed assistance. Stevens (2013) argues that the use of the knowledge which is gained from quality improvement efforts will definitely generate evidence needed to make systems improvements and transform healthcare. Therefore, utilizing the available resources in addition to conducting further researches, exploring on well-intended expert opinions and working together with the willing partners from the academy for discovering what works to improve health care guarantees growth of the profession. It is true that there a number of challenges to improving the profession, but there is no magic bullet for bringing success into the practice, several strategies are needed. Furthermore, what works in the context of care should be identified and the context variables implementation.
To further demonstrate the intensity of this issue, the research of Hartshell and Williams (2010) indicates that this emotional decision is better made by the patient themselves. Family and Consumer Science professionals, such as dietitians, can provide support to solve this problem by insuring that dietetic students have an ethical educational background incorporated into their major (Hira, 1996). ANH is defined as providing artificial nutrients and water through
During my placement at The George Hull Centre, I would invest time to improve my knowledge for my learning goal of health promoting positive discipline. Positive discipline is a topic that has not been discussed yet in the nursing program. This is a very important topic to discuss as discipline effects a child’s mental well-being. As well, it is essential to understand this topic as it impacts the social determinant of health, healthy child development. During the creation of my presentation, I would seek feedback from my preceptor in a timely manner to determine whether I needed to change any terminology or include any additional information.
These include among others patterns of consumption of food and drinks, family patterns, culture economic changes and demographic –patterns. Hence adopting health promotion interventions can be used to address these issues. This should be done in schools, hospitals, communities and should be included in health policies. Only the can we solve most of our global health issues wholestically. Nurses need to have the expertise to be good health promoters.
The act of nursing helps people to achieve this goal comfortably and appropriately. Caring for a person through action, relationally, and improving health and is the ultimate role of a nurse. Conclusion Nursing plays an important role in maintaining the health of human beings. This role requires that a person be understanding of human beings individually and as a whole, the environment in which we survive, the meaning of health and how to maintain it, and how to be caring. These concepts have shaped my philosophy, which I will use as a guideline to practice nursing by, and as I advance my knowledge of nursing, I will be able to expand upon
Effective understanding and communication is a vital key in healthcare and is very important to improve everyone’s health and wellbeing. By doing so, we then build healthier communities. These ethical and racial groups need to be recognized and addressed because of their cultures, languages and/or health literacy of these diverse patients and their communities. “The ideas people have about health, the languages they use, the health literacy skills they have, and the contexts in which they communicate about health reflect their cultures. Organizations can increase communication effectiveness when they recognize and bridge cultural differences that may contribute to miscommunication.”
Health behavior theories assist in understanding health behavior problems, developing intervention based on salient determinants that affect behaviors and evaluating the effectiveness of the health interventions. The most effective persuasive interventions for behavior change usually occur when the intervention is behaviorally focused and theory driven(Consolvo, McDonald, & Landay, 2009).Therefore, persuasive technology can be made optimally effective, if they are also combined or supported by behavior change theories (Shegog, 2010). Since, the aim of this research is to design a persuasive technology in line with individual’s health goals. The use of any of these model could drive the intervention-tool to be a user-centered.
The features of health promotion are that it is based on a holistic view of health; it uses participatory approaches it focuses on the determinants and addressing of health not just health problems and conditions. These include the social, behavioral, environmental and economic conditions that are the root cause of poor health, wellbeing and illness such as education, income, employment, working conditions, social status. Health promotion builds on existing strengths and assets and it uses multiple, complementary strategies to promote health for the individual, community and population level. These may include models such as the health belief model (G.M. Hochbaum, 1958) (Becker & Rosenstock, 1984) or the Stages of change (Trans theoretical model) ( Prochaska & DiClemente,
Helping the community find resources and providing necessary information about a different health condition, actions to take to improve their condition/ problem and decrease adverse effects, and outcomes that can be achieved from following those steps will increase their understanding and help them to take actions towards their health creating a better community. Explain how the community’s current environment (physical or social or both) affects an individual’s health. The current environment of this community has a tremendous and positive impact on the individual’s health. Many individuals in this community testified that the Clare housing had helped them in securing a place to live and provide them with food. These are essential needs that must be met before any intervention or meaningful interaction can happen.
