I have chosen to apply to the College of Arts & Sciences with my primary major of interest being undecided in Natural Sciences. I am not completely ready to declare which natural science I plan on majoring in since I have doubled majored in science during my senior year. The flexibility Penn offers across majors and the 4,200 offered courses would let me explore my curiosity; a perfect fit for me, since I am currently undecided on the major. Science has always been a passion of mine and at Penn I would have the opportunity to get involved with hands on research as an undergraduate. With $851 million secured in research funding and being one of the leading research universities in the world, Penn provides endless opportunities to be involved in cutting-edge research. Dr. Paul H. Axelsen whose current projects in medicine more specifically, Alzheimer's disease and infectious diseases, align directly with interests of mine. The past …show more content…

I spent the past four years in Global Awareness and Model United Nations Clubs and plan to examine the topic more in depth in college. I have attended multiple conferences hosted by Penn and current Penn students and aspire to continue my involvement in Model UN through Penn’s International Affairs Association and ILMUNC. I aim to further expand my interest in not only global affairs, but the natural sciences is through Penn Abroad. Among all Ivy League Universities, Penn is ranked number one for the most students studying abroad. Penn fosters an environment that supports travel and immersion into different cultures, an important aspect of my intellectual interests. The program I am most interested in is the King’s College London (BKC), where I could be directly enrolled and submerge into a new, vibrant city. The program also offers courses in Global Health and Social Medicine, which intrigued my curiosity in how a foreign country views global
