At Penn, I will continue pursuing my academic interests in business, psychology, and French. Penn gives students the freedom to choose multiple concentrations while also engaging in interdisciplinary studies. The unique feature that differentiates Penn is that the university offers such a breadth of study without sacrificing depth, a feature many other schools lack. While getting my bachelor of science in economics from Wharton, I will concentrate my studies on both finance and behavioral economics with a minor in consumer psychology while also enriching my cultural understanding of France by spending a semester of study abroad.
In the summer preceding my senior year of high school, I conducted a primary research project in Business Management, where I worked with a local generator installation company in order to recommend the best pricing strategy based on seasonal variation and consumer behavior. The feeling of accomplishment that came with this level of professional work was invigorating. I found the class to be infinitely relevant to real life situations, which piqued my curiosity about psychology. What I like about Penn is that I can fuse my passion for business and my interest in psychology into concentrations of behavioral economics and finance, where I can metacognitively analyze consumer behavior and business decisions. I look forward to courses like Wharton’s exemplary FNCE 239: Behavioral Finance that offer an extended structure for gaining insight into behavioral finance, which is a perfect intermediate to funnel my passions for finance and psychology into the concentrations of behavioral economics and
