Grover is on an island trapped with a Cyclops and Percy want to go save him but he can not figure out where the island is located. Percy wants to tell someone about the dreams but Annabeth, daughter of Athena, is the only one who will understand. The only problem is that she lives in a different state than Percy. It was the last day of school when three Laestrygonians monsters came to Percy’s school to assassinate him. Luckily Annabeth came just in time to save Percy and his friend Tyson. When they escaped from the school all three of them went straight to hail a cab in the middle of New York. This taxi that Annabeth hailed was unexceptional. The cab was driven by the Grey Sisters, they were three sisters who shared one eye and one tooth amidst them. The rules of the road apparently did not apply to the sisters. The sister names were Tempist, Wasp, and Anger. Annabeth said that the sisters were very wise. In reply Tempest said, “We also know the location in which you seek.” Percy was very confused by this comment. The sister driving needed the eye so she could see where she was going but the sister who had the eye would not give it to her and they started fighting even more. Soon enough the eye popped out and landed right in Percy’s lap. He argued that he would not give the eye back unless the sisters told him the location that he seeked. So they all blurted out, “30, 31, 75, 12.” This had no meaning to Percy until later in the
Percy is also brave, smart, and courageous, but he is also strong and caring. Percy’s main objective in the story is to get out of the underworld and stop a Roman vs Greek battle. Some devices used by the author in this story are alliterations, similes, and personifications. The Museum is where Percy discovers he is not a mortal , and during the trip his Latin teacher, Chiron, gives Percy a “pen”, which is actually a sword, and fights a monster called the Fury without realizing what the “thing” actually was. After the incident was over, everyone around Percy acts like nothing happened, so Percy pretends that nothing had happened either. Later that day Percy and his mom leaves for the beach, an annual trip that he and his mom always goes on. Throughout the beach trip a massive storm comes and Percy's friend Grover shows up, but not in human form, he shows up in his true mythological form which is a satyr, and tells Sally, Percy’s mom, that it is time to take Percy away now. So Percy, Sally, and Grover are driving to take Percy to the special place and Grover proceeds to tell Percy that everything he practically knows is a lie, that greek mythology actual does exist, that he’s a demigod, and that he is not safe where he currently is and has to go to Camp Half-Blood.

but Mr. Brunner threw the pen or the riptide to Percy and when he uncapped the pen it became a sword and he swung the sword to her and then Mrs. Dodds vaporized. A.2 Refusal of the Call / Acceptance As always, in every story the hero always refuse because of the changes that might happen. In the case of Percy he doesn’t want to leave his mother especially with “smelly gabe” that the only thing he knows is to sit and gamble with his friends, but because of the attacked of the Minotaur and the disappearance of his mother, he eventually accepts the call. Subsequently, Percy's mom was abducted by the Minotaur. He wouldn't let his loving and caring mom just go away like that. He snatched the Minotaur horn off of it, and stabbed it with it.
This was an honor for Percy which brought a great honor into Percy’s life. But, it also brought more danger into into Percy’s life like being attacked by many monsters including people like the kindly
The book, Percy Jackson: The Battle Of The Labyrinth, by Rick Riordan is an amazing book about a group of demigods (half human half god) that have to save their camp from being destroyed by the evil forces of Kronos. Kronos is a titan that the gods banished to the deepest part of the underworld (Tartarus) after a war against them. Now that the titans are rising once again, the protagonists must travel through an ancient Labyrinth to stop them from demolishing their camp and temporarily halt them from achieving their goal of destroying Mount Olympus and the gods. This literary analysis will show the interesting relationships between some of the characters, and how the setting that they were in affected them throughout their journey.
Each test prepares Percy for the final battle, his encounter with Ares, where he displays the leadership qualities he has obtained over the course of the novel. Percy is first tested when he encounters the furies on the bus leaving Camp Half Blood. Percy fails a test of his ability to coordinate and communicate. Firstly, he disregards the plan that he, Annabeth and Grover had discussed— “What I did next was so impulsive and dangerous”—jerking the wheel out of the bus driver’s hands (164).
