So what does it truly mean to be successful at something? Does it mean to be known for what that person did or does it represent the feeling someone feels after completing a task. To one, it could mean the satisfaction of accomplishing something after a long time of concentration and hard work. With this being said, the quest for the Golden Fleece was a success in the reader’s eyes because in the quest, no one got hurt, everyone worked together, and they eventually captured the fleece.
Throughout the journey, Percy and Annabeth faced many challenges such as Mechanic Bulls, Sirens, Scylla, and

Also I think that the fleece brought back “someone who was destined to be a best friend, or possibly the worst enemy.” (Rick Riordan pg279). was more than a successful than unsuccessful because the Golden Fleece brought back a human being back to life. Along with Thalia being brought back to life, the Golden Fleece re strengthen the boarder and further protected Camp Half Blood from monsters.

This was overall a successful journey because, no one got hurt, everyone worked together, and they eventually captured the
Percy is also brave, smart, and courageous, but he is also strong and caring. Percy’s main objective in the story is to get out of the underworld and stop a Roman vs Greek battle. Some devices used by the author in this story are alliterations, similes, and personifications. Some similarities in these two books are that both main characters need to solve a problem, both need help from
Percy is very strong emotionally and he always makes sure that his friends and family are safe. When Grover was captured and sent to Polyphemus, Percy knew that he had to go and save him as well as retrieve the golden fleece so he could save everyone at camp. Percy cares about his friends and he will be willing to do the right thing and save them even if it means he gets in trouble. Percy Jackson wasn't
Finally, Percy crosses the threshold when he leaves Camp Half Blood and embarks on the journey West, to find Zeus ' master bolt. After Percy, Annabeth, and Grover cross the threshold and officially begin their quest, they must confront and consequently complete a series of tests. The first of these
Percy Jackson and the lightning thief is about the offspring of poseidon and a mortal, going on a quest with his friends to find Zeus’ missing lightning bolt. The bolt went missing and Percy Jackson is accused of taking it. This is an excellent book that was made into a film. Though the film was good it was very different from the book.
”(142). This quote was from Lightning Thief. “Usually there is a discovery, some event, or some danger that starts them on a heroic path” This quote comes from Hero’s Journey, stage: “Call for Adventure”. I think these two quotes align together because Percy needs to retrieve what was stolen.
Percy is a selfless individual and leader making him the light in the darkness. Acceptance, and putting others feelings before his own lies in his leadership. For instance, when the bull attacked Camp Halfblood Percy went into the fight wanting to help save the camp emphasis of the word help. Percy wasn’t fighting to make a proclamation for himself but to work together to defeat the threat. Admission and approval was what Percy was in search of.
When Percy wanted the fleece he didn't stop when he did not succeed, he kept going until he got right where he wanted to be. Even though he had an enemy that didn't stop him from putting effort in. Percy is always being loyal to his people and what he wants. Percy also stopped the monsters which weren't easy. Odysseus did the opposite of this.
Finally, the entering the unknown happens. I know this because when he goes to camp half-blood there is the constant threat of danger. Also his strength and courage is tested time and time again. In conclusion, percy’s experiences align with the Hero’s
Perseus Vs. Percy Jackson Essay (Final Draft) “No man who had ever set out to kill Medusa had come back, and the king was sure that now he was forever rid of Perseus.” Throughout the movie of “Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief” and throughout the original mythology of “Perseus”, there are obviously huge differences between the two stories-- but there are also huge similarities as well. “Percy Jackson” draws on the legend of “Perseus” by having quite a similar story/a similar concept, while the story of “Percy Jackson” also transforms the original story by making the film more modern -- by adding more different quests, and by changing some of the characters/adding more new characters. Throughout the two stories, you can see very similar ideas -- such as hero archetypes, hero themes, and plot
Initially, when Percy played capture the flag in his camp, his persevere characteristic kept him alive. Annabeth was very close to killing him, but he never gave up, and fought for his team. Percy has learned his role throughout the story as he journeys to bring back what was taken from his uncle (Zeus) to keep peace in the world. Some challenges was getting to know that he was son of Poseidon, being attacked by the three furies, and being betrayed by the ones he called a true friend to a King Titan
In the Odyssey, Odysseus experience imprisonment and war in order to return to his wife- Penelope; he faced the wrath of Poseidon, which prevented his journey home, but eventually he was reunited with his wife. Like in Percy Jackson, Percy experienced many troubles in order to save his mom. He went all over the country of the United States to save his mom, also made a trip to the underworld, and eventually made a trip up to Olympus. Both Percy and Odysseus found the strength within themselves to be brave based on their relationships with their wife and mother respectively. While they are alike in ways of their bravery nevertheless, are different for what their conflicts are, and how they got in these
Again, Percy’s ability to communicate and coordinate a team are tested, but unlike the encounter with the furies, he is successful this time. Percy’s growth is especially clear when he acknowledges Annabeth’s successful calculations, saying “If we’d have jumped when I thought we should’ve, we would’ve crashed”, admitting that Annabeth saved their lives (240). Percy communicates well, delegating responsibilities— “‘Get into that booth! Find the ‘on’ switch’” he yells to Grover, “‘Unfasten your seatbelt’” he yells to Annabeth—to guide the group. The test of the waterpark displays Percy’s confident leadership abilities as he coordinates
a good leader can make decisions. if you are able to make decisions how are you going to leave our people? with making decisions comes communication.
