Jarica Martarano is someone I admire due to her dedication, helpfulness, and everything she has taught me about life and softball. In all, Jarica Martarano is a great role model for anyone and is a great paradigm for people to follow. Jarica is not an average person or coach, she is extraordinary. She is a natural born leader and teacher. She taught me important lessons only a coach can.
Claire will always fight for what’s right. An ignored request for a stop sign at a dangerous intersection led to a run for town council against smarmy Duane Bailey. Things didn’t go well at the debate as evidenced by the autotuned “Sex Freak Candidate” video that went viral afterwards. Election day didn’t go much better as Claire not only lost the race, but she also lost a fake tooth incurred during her “Fire and Nice” ice skating days with brother Mitchell. Nevertheless, Claire Dunphy will always be a winner at home and the persistent one who keeps this Modern
Shortly in “Displaced Persons” once she finds out her husband is going to be fired, she runs to her house and begins packing all their things up. She then makes her husband quit before they get a chance to fire him. This shows that she has too much pride to be fired. Another character who shows arrogance is Mrs. Cope she always changes the subject to something cheerful and is always proud of how she handles herself.
Scout is a very intelligent girl from birth and shows it throughout the novel. She learns to read before she even starts school, which angers her teacher due to an advantage over the other students. Scout is as intelligent as she is because of the way Atticus raised her. For being so young, she comes to understand big concepts quickly. For example, Atticus references the killing of a mockingbird early in the novel and Scout brings is back in conversation in the second to last chapter.
“Sometimes you need a little crisis to get your adrenaline flowing and help you realize your potential.”(254) How powerful these words spoken by Rose Mary when Lori kicks her mother out of her apartment. A sense of pride is shown here which one should never lose. In Chapter 21 where Billy poses problem and seeing Jeanette’s reaction Rose Mary says “no child is born a delinquent. They only become that way if nobody loved them…”(83) Though very painful to see Jeanette's family skedaddled once again but it shows us that Jeanette and her siblings had to be supportive of each other to reach, watching each others back and thus developing a supportive network leading to where they have reached today. In chapter 62 we see that Rex makes a full recovery from TB and Lori becomes a illustrator of a comic book, Brian a detective, Maureen in high school and Jeanette in college but still they met during Christmas which shows they had developed a strong root, love and compassion for each other.
Later on in the novel the violence escalates, “The death car, as the newspapers called it, never stopped...” (Fitzgerald 137). This quote is referring to Myrtle getting hit by a car. This incident causes a reaction from her husband, George Wilson. From his reaction we get to see a glimpse into the nature of man. “It was after we started with Gatsby toward the house that the gardener saw Wilson's body a little way off in the grass, and the holocaust was complete” (Fitzgerald 112).
Courage Sunni Knapp Courage isn 't going along with what other people think, its about fighting for what you believe. Throughout the book Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry, this 9-year-old wild child with the name of Cassie Logan keeps catching my eye. She always stands up for what she believes and even if she knows she 's wrong, she still fights for it. Cassie demonstrates courage when she stands up for Little Man at school, she faces her enemy, Lillian Jean, and she stands up to the man at the mercantile. All of these things make Cassie Stronger, but she still ends up to be the same crazy little girl she was before, but now stronger.
I loved that they showed all the people in the community she worked with helping her spell the final word. Akeelah and the Bee showcases the message of the courage it takes to overcome obstacles in life, the importance of being who you are, and that these traits will help you reach your goals. Akeelah accomplishes this with help from the community and by proving the stereotypes wrong. This successful movie has given other girls like Akeelah to not let other people or ideas stop them from doing the things that make them who they
Malala states, “ All I want is an education, and I am afraid of no one”. She is courageous because despite knowing the danger in which she was placing herself, she still never stood down. Malala Yousafzai, shot and wounded in Pakistan for being an advocate of education for young women when she was 15, has emerged as an international symbol of the challenges that still exist in gender equality in education. She has one goal, the right for girls education, and she will not come down without a fight. Not only did she show great courage, but she also showed compassion.
Eva Benitez, one of Erin Gruwell’s students, visits her father in prison where he tries to manipulate her into lying in order to defending Paco, who killed a man but another person is being tried for the murder. Eva testifies with the truth and declares that Paco killed the man at the convenient store and after this, viewers can see how she is violently attacked by a group of gang members, who only let her live “out of respect for her
During her time inside the, sauna almost every player had given up because of the atrocious heatwave yet she didn’t quit because she talked herself into enduring the pain. She had told herself “I can do this. This pain is expected. Just keep going, I can do this. Whatever it takes.” (Whitsett
Another example of a false execution is in Carlos De Luna 's case, who was executed in 1989 for the stabbing of Wanda Lopez, a convenience store clerk. There were two eyewitnesses who played a key role in the conviction of De Luna. Before the murder and robbery, George Aguirre was filling up at the gas station, when he saw a man standing outside the store slide a knife with the blade exposed into his pocket and enter. The man asked Aguirre for a ride to a nightclub, but he refused and went inside the store to warn Lopez about the suspicious man. Aguirre left and Lopez called the police to describe the man.
After this she makes her way to Ralphies cell in jail and kills him and a few other prisoners. Mindy 's mother is absolutely freaking out because of everything that has been happening so Mindy promises Marcus she will never be Hit-Girl again. Also Dave wanted to focus on school more, “but as rumors spread of what happened that night it had never been more fashionable to be out there in a pair of pantyhose”. (somewhere at the end of
The schools thoroughly secured campus put Luce, along with others, at unease as the cameras watched everything they did, at every minute of the day. The school also allowed a fifteen minute only phone call, per week, for every student. Not only is going to school with mentally unstable people compared to the people Luce was used to, Luce also finds that Sword & Cross classes are long and mostly about god, who she really has no interest
The unit used to enhance the cop cars were solaris LED flare strobes, which we ran into the dimmer board and Josh Thatcher built into chases” (william. P.48). Matthew’s statement was well explained during the 1992 L.A riot scene. Close-up on Dr.Dre riding as he’s scanning the action which is being played in slow motion. Mis-en-scene with garbage scattered around, burned buildings and smoke in the iar background and foreground angry L.A residents destroying cars and grocery stores.
