Personal Duty Vs Civic Duty

Civic and personal duty can be extremely similar or different. I believe that these two responsibilities should be on a scale, this scale can tilt towards either side depending on the problem. To me, personal duty is more important than civic because only you can know what is right and what is right can vary for everyone. For instance, in the book I am Malala, Malala has to decide whether to go against the normal in her country and stand up what she believes in (her personal duty) or, continue being mistreated and follow the strict rules that society has oppressed on her (civic responsibility).
