When you tell others that you’re Canadian, many think of maple syrup, friendly people, and hockey. Little did they know that we are entitled to freedom, peace, and equality. Not only do we excel in many winter sports such as hockey, but we also bond over our country’s achievements in sports events. In addition to our strong government and democratic society, Canadians offer help to those in need and welcomes new immigrants to our country. As Canadians, our country has written The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
This person is important to Canadian identity because Jackie Robinson showed the world and Canadians themselves that Canada is a multicultural society, and someones skin tone doesn't make them any different. Jackie Robinson’s importance to the civil rights movement was recognized by civil rights activists like martin luther king. Jackie’s successful integration on to the segregated field of baseball, provided a positive example that blacks and whites could have peace and respect between each other. Based on the provided commercials, Canadians are proud citizens. Each commercial has it’s own specific theme but every commercial related to this idea of being proud. In order, I watched all of the commercials and the “I Am Canadian” commercial set the tone and expectations that I had for the following three. The “I Am Canadian” commercial is set up like a public speech, which gives the audience a general idea of how the rest of the commercial is going to be presented. In “I Am Canadian” commercial, the narrator starts off with the stereotypes of how Canadians are often proceed to be or how American’s view Canada.
Legalized conscription truly revolutionized Canada’s future. The efforts put into making conscription possible created positive results, the increase in Canadian economy , increase in respect for women, and women 's political rights. All of this had only happened because of conscription. The Canadian economy improved drastically due to conscription. As more and more Canadians joined the war the demand for Canadian resources increased and new industries were formed.
The person I chose that I would like to be described as is an ice hockey player known as P.K. Subban on the Montreal Canadiens. Subban is a great role model for young people and deserves the respect that I have for him. When he is on the ice, Subban is always working hard to get better at different zones of skill such as stick handling, shooting the puck, and body checking. When Subban is off the ice, he is always very fun and kind to his fans and even the opponent’s fans.
Once victory is secured, Canada will be known as a nation to be reckoned with. The brave sacrifices of these Canadian soldiers will never be forgotten. The perseverance of a few brave men can bring about defining moments for an entire
This gives gives us two perspectives on his personality, which are his strong sense of pride and love for his community and provides us a glimpse into his personality. His love for the Metis is expressed, when he dictates that “I will go out to red river to follow the footsteps of my father… he has been a benefactor of our people, and I shall seek to be their benefactor to.” Moreover, when Riel speaks of his people he usually starts with ‘our’ or ‘my’ people which gives the sense of his entitlement to his people and that he is one of them. Then again, his father did raise him with the sense that one day he was going to lead his metis people. Even though, Riel encountered troubles and obstacles from the French people, he never gave up on them, he knew that there were too many commonalities between these two groups. In addition, he saw The French as the protectors of the metis because of their religion and French background.
He loved and took amazing care of his mother and even after her death continued to respect what she would have wanted. He also strived to be like his maternal grandfather who had served as a Canadian leader in the Upper Canada Rebellion, and as the first mayor of Toronto. This, along with his parents constantly encouraged him to get into law and politics, led to him eventually taking office and for that we can all be grateful. King truly was an honourable, valiant, and innovative leader. Both in his public and private life.
What it means to be Canadian is to have rights, job opportunities, and health care. In Canada there is a charter of rights and freedoms, they state you are allowed to follow any belief you want, able to travel around the country freely, celebrate your culture, and many more. Coming with these rights are responsibilities so it does not become an anarchy. This makes Canada a lovely place to live, as anyone can get a job, go to the school in their language,
Being Canadian comes with many things. It comes with acceptance of people from all walks of Earth. It comes with being friendly and loving all regardless of characteristics. Being Canadian means being one and accepting. That is the perception that Molson went for in their advertisement titled “What makes Someone Canadian.” Molson Coors is a beer company that has a deep-rooted heritage in Canada.
Two of those columns have the exact same width and the same colour that are red. The other column is white and wider because it has the maple leaf on the center of the flag. The way I view the Canadian flag is that is simple and easy to remember. The colours capture the attention of the citizen as well as people from other countries. The red portrays Canada as a country that has the determination, strength, power and love for everyone because Canada has shown these values to the world and its citizen.
Multiculturalism is a great benefit to Canada’s economy and diversity, because different cultures can bring unique perspectives and intelligence into the country. We would get very many different ideas and opinions from others who belong to another culture. Canada had become a diverse country with the help of globalization. Canada being a multicultural country has led to many positive outcomes for our
