The Distance is run, but the Journey just begins. These are words that clearly describe my sojourn through High school. I started strong, but keep going, traveling through 4 years of high school, yet journeying on into the realm of an Undergrad program. My role model has always been my father; from a young age he has been the one figure that motivates me. He is a private entrepreneur owning and running a successful Steel Plant. He also recently diversified into the shoe industry. I have been exposed to the intricacies of Business and taken a keen interest in his new penetrations into the Indian market. His constant mentorship and patience in teaching me has encouraged me to consider studying Business management. I discovered the world of academics and became a scholar with a CGPA of 9.6 in Grade nine and improving that to a 10 CGPA in Grade ten. This earned me the privilege of meeting the Honorable Mr. Pranab Mukerjee - President of India, on the occasion of Diwali Celebrations - when all scholars earning a perfect 10 CGPA were presented to him. I will cherish this memory, as he is wonderful speaker besides being a prolific writer. One of my favorite readings was his book “ Emerging dimensions of Indian Economy”. In addition to my interest in Math and Business, in 2012 -- I won the Gold in the Science Olympiad and the Silver in the …show more content…

Initially, my entire high school career, I have worked exceedingly with every activity that I have done. While attending school every day, I cultivate my academic skills to overachieve expectations. To
Ever since I can recall, I remember making big plans for my future, butt I did not know, at that age, that college was actually something that had to be payed for. Even though I eventually realized it, it still didn’t make me stray from my path, on the contrary, it gave me more of a reason as to why I should aspire to do better than my surroundings. As the oldest child, I have always been told that I must be the greater example for my younger siblings as well as for others. Up until my early teenage years I did not understand why I should be a distinguished person for others and not for myself. I now yearn to become someone to make the world a better place.
“The task ahead of you is never as great as the strength within you”. I live by these quotes each day which shapes up of who I am. If I start something I must always finish and give it my all, whether it’s on the field and off the field. To give one-hundred percent in a game and in the classroom, that winners never quit, and quitters never win. Whether I win or lose, as long as I gave it my all, then that’s all that matters.
The theme of perseverance and tackling obstacles reigns true, though the time, place, and main character have all changed. Now, I am a 17-year-old American trying to make it through high school and onwards into college. My stunning sword and shield have been
With the year-round pressure pertaining to college applications on high school seniors follows the impending decision of choosing an appropriate college major. Generally, the decision-making process involves prioritizing one field of interest over another, however, due to globalization and constant innovation in technology determining a college major has increasingly become the modern day equivalent of the metaphorical line between life and death. Even so, the obvious choice would be the prestigious STEM fields over liberal arts due to the instant job opportunities which are seemingly ludicrous to a recent graduate. Nevertheless, liberal arts education should be encouraged to be pursued at higher education institutions in USA because it helps
Perseverance. Leadership. Service. Scholarship. Words I strive to live by everyday.
Their experiences motivate me to capitalize on what they gave me–to become something. I want to be sure that my parents know I’m thankful and know that I will work hard to become what they didn’t have the opportunity to. 11th Grade Columbus High School Anjali Patel 5th
I have overcome difficult challenges in my pursuit of education. I fell behind on my credits, which was the hardest situation to pull myself up from. I caught up and past my colleagues. I am more than ready to further expand my education beyond graduating high school. I am striving to make myself rise above the rest.
My salient career goal is to become a successful independent computer engineer, as women are a minority in the engineer field. In order to achieve that goal I have kept smaller goals that will build up. These are to graduate with a 4.0 GPA from the University of Houston and to gain as much experience and skills during this journey. I am confident enough to say that as long as I remain dedicated I will definitely reach my goals. I will be writing about the goal I’m focusing on now, that is to graduate with a 4.0 GPA and how I am planning on making the best out of this experience.
When I was young, I used to watch surgeries on TV with my mom. I still continue to watch medical shows on TV or watch surgeries on Snapchat from doctors who record their surgeries for their viewers to watch. I have a passion to help others, and by working in the medical field, I will have the opportunity to help others every day. I’ve wanted to become a surgeon since I was about 4 or 5 years old, and my career plan has not changed once. Each day that passes, I get more passionate and excited about my future as a medical student, and eventually a surgeon.
When i was first assigned the career search I was nervous and panicked because how fast time past by it was like I just started elementary school and suddenly I was thinking what I want to be and preparing for college. When I am ask what i want to be when i grow up I always says that I want to be a nurse and I think I still do. I’m still undecided on what career do I want.
