The live experience Introduction United States is a country that is different in all aspects. Immigrants from other nations find their way to America. It makes it difficult to know an America that is typical. The experiences you get are different from other countries. When the week begins, so do the citizens of America. Each person endeavors to work hard before the weekend arrives. It is attributed to their behavior of resting during the weekends. These days are filled with plans ensuring that the weekends are well spent. They may include shopping in malls, watching a movie, going for a hike, visiting friends and relatives, having a barbeque with your new neighbours, or sitting at home and watching movies. It was usually from one side to the other. It further assisted to bring life to the game. At this point, there was nowhere else I would have chosen to be. The play they used was the key play. It caused the fans of the team to remove their keys before the onset of the play. They would then jiggle them. Michigan have this tradition during the key play. The fans around us were yelling as they jiggled the keys. Others just jiggled without any sound. I was not left behinds as my keys were out of my pocket in unison to supporting my team. At the break, we could only shout as we spoke to each other because of the noise in the stadium. The announcer also took time to announce how the other teams were fairing on in their matches. It included the teams that made it in the big ten. At times, they would announce the teams in the top twenty five. A friend shared with me that the tradition of the announcer began way back in the late fifties. The announcer would announce the score of the slippery game. The tradition from that time was incorporated in the Michigan’s experience. The reaction that the fans show to the slippery score shows their dedication to their team. They would boo if the score was low and cheer when the score was high. One would think that the team belonged to each one of the fans. I came to realize that the relationship between the two rivals enables them to play in the stadium for a number of
In terms of football players at Permian, during games they have a perfect vision that any game has the potential to get them recognized for college, which is the main goal. For fans, football is the one thing that still gives the town a purpose. With all of this riding on every game, the outcome is not necessarily as important as what the game means to the town. Former athletes and parents live vicariously through the players to get the same feeling that they once did when they were in high school. Each game presents them the opportunity to relive their glorious moments of high school when they were the ones being praised and recruited for a better life.
Concession stands were loaded with food and snacks in preparation for long waiting lines. During halftime the wait for Dippin’ Dots, an ice-cream stand was 25 minutes. I think
Finally though, the second quarter began to wind down and the performers were called to line up. The girls trailed down the stands and through the stadium to the gate from where they would walk out. Three hundred girls filled the opening and waited, and this was the instance where Cassi was not very good at waiting. She felt her nerves rise as the clock counted down, and two minutes before halftime, the performers began to move. They marched in their lines through news crews, bands, football equipment, and mounds of technical equipment.
As Donie O'Sullivan, from CNN news, states, "At the first NFL football game, in London's Wembley stadium, numbers of Jaguars and the Ravens took a knee during the anthem. " O'Sullivan also states, "Pittsburg Steelers roster stayed in their locker room during the national anthem." Another article about this topic is by Ryan Wilson. Ryan Wilson, of CBS Sports, states, "The Baltimore Ravens stood for the national anthem but kneeled beforehand to say a prayer. Many Baltimore fans booed the team as they came together in prayer."
Cedarwood 's mascot had raced out into the field followed by its team. The boo’s and the hollers had become so immense that the referee had to blow his whistle shouting inaudible words to the audience. After a couple of minutes, however, the coin was tossed and the game began. The game began quickly as did the rain.
Generally, the overall atmosphere of the Coliseum is upbeat and energetic but the atmosphere can change depending on how well the team is playing and the types of calls made by the referees. I chose the Coliseum as a location because there are mass amounts of people, generally a positive atmosphere and it is an excellent way to observe people acting naturally amongst their family and friends. However, this was an incredibly close game that went into double overtime so emotions were on high as fans anxiously awaited a Mountaineer victory. When I attend games at the Coliseum, I’m seated in the upper student section that is filled with both Gen Z and Gen Y students and an occasional Gen X fan. At this week’s game
We put our bags with our gear in them by the place they told us to. I saw my whole team in there waiting for the rest of my team. I saw my best friend Christian at the time he played for the bison. My tickets were in what I call nosebleeds also called {High Seats} I could barely see the puck. 13:00 min into the game the rage score!!!!
As a baby, I was still just the same Ohio State fan. I would chant and cheer for the scarlet and grey. I made a slight pronunciation issue that I will forever laugh at because it said Ohio Steak instead of Ohio State. I was defiantly the laughing stock of the family on Saturday’s and now no one can call me a fake fan because I was rooting for the Buckeye’s before I could even pronounce the words correctly. In the winter of my kindergarten year, a major snowstorm struck in Ohio.
Commentators yelling,”GAME OVER,” and “IT’S GONE!!!!” As for
Subculture of College Football “Isn’t there supposed to be a storm coming?” I asked my mom as were getting dressed for a college football game. “Yes, Uncle Mickey said get dressed anyway” “Don’t the storms get bad in this part of the country?” I asked “Yes JaKyrah, now stop asking so many questions” my mom replied, wolling her eyes. This is the moment I realized… they may take this game a bit too far.
Many people who attended this particular football game were there because they cared about the game itself and who was going to win. For these people, that is all that any football game is about, and that is perfectly okay. This game started out a little bit on the rough side, but things turned for the better on behalf of those cheering for the Highlanders. Throughout the entire game, I heard people cheering for the team and booing the referee whenever he made a call that was against Cambria Heights. This kind of support from the public is what makes the success of the Highlander football team so great.
Before I came to the United States of America, I had some different ideas about the culture and the people. Some of the main differences that I had was the opportunities, the people behavior and the language. This differences complete change when I saw the reality of this country. Before I came to this country I believe that in this country every thing was given to you, the school, work, and any need that you could need. USA is a bless country with easer to attend schools, but is not given to you, you have to put a lot of time and effort to just get in.
My eyes automatically drifted to the tall bright palm tree that moved along with the rhythm of the wind. It’s leafs danced as they presented their welcome. The sun shined down and hugged me with warmth, giving my skin a tingling, but satisfying sensation. I had come from Virginia to California, the famous, constantly spoken of state, that finally reached my sight. The state presented its beautiful attributes to capture my wonder and mesmerization.
After the last few touches were done I rushed home to get dressed and drop off the tickets. I arrived downtown around 5:15p.m. As I entered the building all I could think of was “This is the moment that I have wait me entire life for”. I went backstage and everyone lined up just as they had done in rehearsal. A prayer was given and our principal and teachers had a few words.
Children are passed down 23 chromosomes from each parent to determine their DNA, however in addition to this, I believe that I inherited much more than the visible aspects of my genetic makeup. I inherited a profound curiosity and ambition to pursue the goals I set for myself. Consequentially, this contributes to the way I view the world around me, which derives from my cultural background. Since I started talking as a child, I spoke solely English to my father and Spanish to my mother which seemed to be second nature to me. I initially did not question the reasons that I incorporated both Mexican and American traditions into my life, but now I recognize how my identity has been shaped through my unique upbringing.
