According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, the definition of life is an organismic state characterized by capacity for metabolism, growth, reaction to stimuli, and reproduction; the sequence of physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual. When we all think about life, we don’t think about the exact definition, we think about what makes our lives so great, and what makes us, us in everyday life. Everything we do in life is base off our choices, so depending on what choices we make, is how well our life will turn out. Just like Newton’s law, every action has a reaction, so every choice we make helps determine whether our life will have a lot of negative impacts or positive impacts. All negative and positive choices are apart of the human condition, it is what makes us,us. You must grow, “die”, and learn to better yourself.
Growth means progressive development, so when we make decisions, we either grow or we learn from that decision. A good way to grow as a person is to expand your mind.

In life, you can have plenty of deaths, but one form of death is death to past. By death to past, you can delete or erase all the negativity out of your life, so you can grow as a person. In the Examined Life, West says, “By death what he means is not an event, but a death in life.” West was basically saying that we have to realize that something needs to be gone in our lives, in order to reach true happiness. Another form of death is death to self. Sometimes it takes you changing yourself to grow and become who you want to be. Cornel West says, “It takes more courage to examine the dark corners of your own soul, then it does for a soldier to fight on the battlefield.” I believe that the author was saying that we have to be able to realize all the negative aspects about ourselves to be able to move on and become a better
“We need to realize that our path to transformation is through our mistakes. We 're meant to make mistakes, recognize them, and move on to become unlimited” (Yehuda Berg). As the quote suggests, transformation occurs through mistakes. Even if one seems irrecoverable, there is always a flicker of hope. The novel Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen chronicles the journey of a “lost cause” into a rekindled and hopeful teenager.
Sometimes that's all we can do to help transform our lives. Some of the most important people in history had to reset and make a transformation. John Adams and Abigail Adams had to address problems in their marriage. Hamilton had many things he faced he needed to transform to get the life back that he wanted. Ben Franklin had to transform the way he saw things and change to transform his life and how he looked at himself.
We must also remember that personal growth and transformation are slow processes that require patience and perseverance. The quote also encourages us to embrace the unknown and the mysteries of life. We cannot predict what lies ahead, but we can choose to embrace the journey and find beauty in the process. This is a reminder to focus on the present moment and appreciate the small steps we take toward personal growth and self-discovery.
Only until something dramatic occurs do we remain forever changed. Psychological studies show that it takes significant misfortunes like a major tragedy in one's life to change personalities. PsycNet says, “The individual is likely to meet his world in terms of the personality structure which is already formed. This does not imply that changes do not occur, but they are more likely to occur at times when the individual is faced with conflicts, since stresses often necessitate the development of new modes of behavior in meeting one's environment.” The creation says, “ I am malicious because I am miserable” (104).
Therefore you would have to make an effort to change your mindset, which will shape you into your
The Influence of Grit and Growth Mindset in one’s life In Eduardo Briceno’s view “The key to success is not simply effort, focus, or resilience, it is the growth mindset that creates them.” Grit is the quality that enables individuals to work hard enough and stick to their long-term passions and goals. Growth mindset is the intelligence that can be developed and the ability to accept debacle. Two special features that will help one achieve in academics, personal life, and career are grit and growth mindset.
“Don’t be afraid to change. You may lose something good, but you may gain something better." (Unknown). This is a quote that shows that change isn’t all that bad. This is also shown in the short story Pancakes by Joan Bauer, when the main character changes and because of it becomes a better friend and more enjoyable to be around.

What matters, therefore, is not the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person’s life at a given moment” (Frankl, p. 108). The meaning of life, when used as a general term, has a broad definition because of its ever-changing nature. However, the true definition of the meaning of life is supposed to be established on an individual basis. It’s the events going on in your personal life at that moment in time that defines what meaning is. “To put the question in general terms would be comparable to the question posed to a chess champion: ‘Tell me, Master, what is the best move in the world?’”
If you don’t find a way to be yourself and express yourself as your own person, it will eat away at you until you find yourself being exactly the same as the person beside you. You will get your calling, it might be when you are standing in line at Starbucks in your Uggs, leggings and sweater, when you realize that you and your friends not only look the same but order the same thing. That’s when you will realize that you’ve become the stereotype, that society wants you to be, and maybe you will choose to stay with it which there is nothing wrong with, or maybe you’ll change and evolve into a new
How does someone know if they are truly happy? Much of society have come to associate happiness with the pursuits of personal pleasures or that which makes us “feels good”. When we feel good we display positive expression of emotions such as joy, laughter, kindness and fewer negative emotions such as anger, hate, and sadness. To some people our happiness is already determined through our genes. Some people seek happiness through money and material possessions.
